Chapter 5: Chosing Just One Isn't Too Hard

*Maya's POV*

Dad explained how he can be in he cage now only because the raptors can't do much to hurt him quite yet. But when they are older, he probably won't go in.

"You girls ready to come in?" Dad asks us.

We nod our heads and run over to the gate and wait for someone to open it.

Once the gate is opened, Bella and I go into the cage, slowly and carefully. I walk over to Blue. Dad gave me permission to pet her.

She purrs a small purr, the rubs her head on my right leg. I smile at dad. "Blue is my favorite!"

Dad smiles back. "Well, if she's your favorite, then you can consider her yours."

I look down at Blue, who is staring up at me with her big brown eyes. "Really?"

"Yeah, they're my raptors. You each can choose one. Just know that if you want to visit them, you need me to go with you."

*Bella's POV*

Did dad really just say we can each choose a velociraptor?

I go to Charlie. She walks towards me then waits for me to make a move.

I pet her and she falls on the ground on her side. "Dad, look at Charlie," I giggle.

"She wants you to pet her. Kind of like a dog, you know?" Dad responds.

I pet her more and she wags her tail a lil', just like a dog. I then knew, that Charlie was my favorite. "Can Charlie be mine?" I ask dad.

"Sure, Maya got Blue, so you can have Charlie!"

I look back at Charlie who apparently likes to pretend to be a dog. "Your a good girl." I whisper to Charlie.

*Maya's POV*

While dad watches Bella play with Charlie who is now a dog, I pet Blue and watch her every move, as she does the same to me.

"Blue." I say. She looks at me, maybe not because I called her name, but because she hasn't had much human contact.

"So dad," I begin, "who's alpha? Or is there one yet?"

Dad chuckles. "I'm Alpha."

Bella gives him a funny look. "Really?"

Dad nods. "And Blue," dad points at Blue and she tilts her head, "Is Beta."

I look at Blue again. "They can already have Alpha and Beta at their age?"

Dad shrugs his shoulders. "I'm still learning about them."
