Chapter 7: Birthday's Aren't Always Perfect *Part Two*

*Bella's POV*

I watch in horror as my sister hits the ground of the raptor cage. No velociraptors are near her. Yet.

"Dad! We gotta do something! She's gonna die on our birthday!" I'm completely freaking out. That should be normal for me, right?

He runs down and orders for someone to open the gate. They refuse at first, but dad finally got his way.

The gate begins opening slowly. I run down and stay behind my dad. He has no idea I'm behind him.

*Maya's POV*

I open my eyes and see Charlie, Delta, Blue, and Echo. They all are starting at me. This isn't my plan of a birthday.

"Maya, don't move," I turn around and see my dad playing superhero for once. He's reaching his hand out for me. I would take it, but it's much harder to reach for then it looks.

Of course, Bella is right behind him. I don't want her or dad to get hurt. I would never live with myself.

Dad got close enough where he could grab me and I crawled slowly towards Bella. She pulled me back to the opening of the gate, and when we were to safety, she stopped and hugged me real tight.

Bella let's go of me and tries to smile. I find a small tear roll down her face. "I thought you were going to die." She cries.

I smile back. "I'm not dead, just happy nothing feels broken after a fall like that," I smirk at her.

Bella laughs a little. We turn and see dad slide into the safety, the raptors sticking their noses through the gates, glaring at us.

*Bella's POV*

I wave at Echo. "Hi. Thanks for not eating my sister or my dad," I giggle.

Maya shakes her head with a big smile on her face. "You make anything better," she smiles.

Dad walks over to us and he looks a little pissed. "Don't race or run on the walk way. Maya could've died."

"But I didn't," Maya argues.

"But you could've." Dad sighs and looks at us. "This was an adventure, huh?"

I smile from ear to ear. "It was great. You did good."

Maya pushes my head away. "Nuh uh, he did great."

I push her back. Maybe used to have a piercing on her belly button, but now she has nothing. "Maya, how long have you had no piercings?" She swears and feels her stomach. "Dang it, must've gotten yanked out when I fell or something. This hurts now that I know."

"I'll get you an ice pack when we get to our cabin, and we can talk after your birthday." Dad helps us up and we walk over to our jeep.
