Eren's POV
It was the Fourth of July
You and I were, you and I were

I slapped the snooze button on my phone. I don't know what compelled me to do this or why I thought this would be a good idea, but here I am at 5a.m. This was my last, full day with Levi for an extraordinarily long time. I guess I was in a state of denial more or less. I knew I was leaving but I wasn't in any way, shape, or form, ready to admit how long we would be separated. I don't think Levi was ready to admit it either. Whenever I would bring up anything that had to do with travel such as packing, plane rides, etc; he would just ignore me for a few minutes and then go on talking about something else as if I hadn't even brought it up.

So back to what's important, why in the name of all that is holy was I up at 5a.m. you ask? Well I thought I would do something totally romantic and liberating with Levi. So that's why I am currently standing at Levi's flat thinking over how much I value my life and if it's worth it to enter his apartment at such an unholy hour. I had come up with multiple scenarios that could play out, most of them involving murder and Levi ending up on one of those Investigation Discovery shows, Wives with Knives or something of the sort.

So I summoned all the willpower I had and unlocked the door with the spare key that was currently in my possession. I slipped quietly into the dark space, being extra careful not to make any noises. I shut the door behind me while slipping off my shoes and placing them down gently next Levi's. I glanced around the apartment and found no signs of life, yet. Levi's bedroom door was open, which was strange. He always slept with his door closed, always. He had once rambled on for twenty minutes about how he hated sleeping with the bedroom door open. He's such a strange, little man.

So I stealthily snuck over towards his bedroom and peeked through the door, the only thing going through my mind was "Got to be sneaky. I've got to be sneaky." When I looked into the bedroom all the sheets on the bed were pushed back and the duvet hung off the foot of the bed and onto the floor. This mess was very unlike the clean freak I had come to love. Also, he was missing, he wasn't in the bed but the apartment was dark and all his things were here. His phone, wallet, shoes, everything.
