But still what did touched by the Goddess really mean? I swear I've heard it before; I'll have to ask Sam we can work on that while we figure out who her other mate was because like it or not the Moon Goddess gave me the answer she might not have meant to but she did. That will have to wait though I was needing some pretty strong pain killers at the moment. I breathed in, and winced.
"Whats wrong?" Came Rylan's worried voice.
"I'm fine, Just need some pain killers." I looked around the room.
"I am so sorry; this is all my fault. If I had told Mr. Johnson about this as soon as I suspected anything My dad wouldn't have shot you." The tears that where in Sam's eyes spilled over.
"Hey; Sam this is not your fault. Let me make myself clear. I will take a bullet for anyone of you. Willingly take one. Even though it hurts like hell. I would never ever want you guys to go through this. Don't you dare blame yourself Sam. We stopped your Dad that is all that matters. You are safe; I will heal. We will all live. Sam; you and I will be back to making the crowd laugh in no time." It hurt to talk, but I didn't care I would not let Sam take the blame from this. It was not her fault at all. This all happened because her father was a giant ass. "How are you Sam? I asked remembering the bruises that she had showed us.
"Stop worrying about me Dev, I am fine I just have bruises they will heal a lot easier than a bullet wound. What happened while you were out?"
"What do you mean?"
"You were out for a long time Dev; a really long time. Two damn weeks." Rylan spoke up. I hadn't noticed before, but he was crying too. Everyone was even Levi.
"Look don't cry guys I am fine. I am just a little tired."
"I bet the wolfsbane isnt out of your system yet miss Johnson." The doctor spoke.
"Wolfsbane?"
"Yes Ms. Johnson; The bullet was soaked in wolfsbane." The Doctor spoke. Remember how I said Sam's Dad was a giant ass? Yeah that still stands.
"How long until it is out of my system?" I asked. I might not have been awake for two weeks, but damn I was tired of laying down.
"I'll draw some blood now that your awake Ma'am. We will know soon enough."
"OK; can my bed be sat up? I'm tired of laying flat."
"I'll get it." Levi spoke for the first time. I knew he wasn't okay with showing his feelings, I hadn't seen Levi cry since he was a little boy. His face was red with embarrassment, and his eyes were puffy. Even his voice was raw. With his hand that wasn't holding Layla tight to his side he pressed the button to make the bed sit up. "Don't scare us like that again Dev; we thought we had lost you." The last part I was barley able to hear I was really sleepy still. Damn I hate wolfesbane.
