You had a theory–a dark, depressing theory that explained the cause for all your suffering. But right now, that theory was all that made sense to you.
I'm not here to live. I am not given a second chance at life–I am sentenced to a punishment. I'm only here to suffer and pay for all I've done...
Yes, that must be true. That has to be true. You have always thought that it was life that was unfair to you. But now you know, it is fair. It is completely fair and just. Because even with each and every one of your odds, it was weird how you never rolled the right number. It was weird how you always ended up with the shorter end of the stick.
But now you know. It was almost like... divine punishment. That's what it was. Punishment for all that you've done. Punishment, to show you that it was your own actions that led you here, that caused you to suffer till this point.
All for One had changed somewhat in the 80 years since you had last seen him, especially that terrifying mask that covered the whole of his face. He still had his ominous aura though, one that sent your every muscle into a quivering mess. Your body was shaking with the unfathomable amounts of rage you harboured towards that monster. Your brain flooded your lips with curses upon curses but your tongue, too heavy to lift, refused to deliver.
Your brother, naive and unaware of the reality, rushed to pull you into his arms. How long had it been since he had held you in his arms like this? How long had it been since he had breathed in your scent, felt the strands of your hair tangling with his scarred fingers, since he had gazed upon you in full form, without anyone dragging him away from you?
How long had it been since Touya had last seen you?
Too long for his liking, he knew that much. But now, everything would be okay. Everything would go back to normal now. He had you back in his arms and it felt like he had attained the whole world. He felt like no matter what life would throw at him now, he could now face it with a straight back, because he finally had you again.
Everything would fine–
Touya stopped in his tracks. One look at your glaring eyes and he felt like he had suddenly forgotten how to breath. He couldn't believe it. He couldn't believe what he was looking at. He couldn't believe that this was you–that this was his beloved little sister, his little [Name].
He didn't recognize you.
He couldn't recognize you.
"[N-Name]," he barely croaked, eyes trying to find any sign of his beloved sister being in there. All he saw was a woman who had fought a hundred battles. All he saw was the soul of a woman who had seen Hell and looked even beyond it.
All he saw was a woman who had fed the bodies of her enemies to the beast of Death, herself.
A woman like that was no sister of his. He knew [Name] as quiet, a bit too quiet for her own good. But kind. Sweet, gentle and loving. Silently caring, despite how she may have been wrongly perceived by him. A gentle lover, nurturing even those who were older than her. A wise guardian who'd lead with a sharp mind and a soft heart.
You looked like anything but that.
And Touya didn't know what to do, at that point. Thankfully for him, Shigaraki stepped up closer, ignoring how your newly reawakened quirk burst to life, crackling the air around you and brought along more destruction in its path. But any attack hurled at Shigaraki was deflected. He simply stood in front of you and Touya, 'watching' with nothing but amusement.
Like a god looking down at its creation, laughing at how naive, how irrational, how stupid it was.
With a flick of his finger, you were out like a light. It wasn't as if All for One had been expected much of a fight from you anyways. You were weak, malnourished, young, and above all, bearing an incomplete, latent version of your powerhouse of a quirk.
