Claire, a growing youtuber, has been given a request by Jordan (captionsparkelz), Mitch (Bajancanadian) and Simon and Lewis (yogscast) to film a new map with a piece of new gaming equipment. But what they don't know is that the map has been turned upside down.... Nothing can prepare them for the challenges they are about to face.
~Chapter 1:
I wake up. My head is spinning, but I'm determined to get up. "Alright!" I say to myself. "A new day, a new video!" I stand up and turn on my laptop. The swinging sound of door bells fill my ears.
Yes. Right on time!
I rush down stairs, jumping a few steps before reaching the door. I open it swiftly and take the white package that lied on the straw welcome mat while fiddling with my hair. I place it down on my desk and open it.
Its The Head Bounder. The newest equipment in gaming tech. It's like a headset; and when you turn it on, it connects your head to the game. In other words, you're the player. Plus, it can be customized to the owners wishes for a few extra bucks. I like to think that it was based on the head gear from 'Sword Art Online'.
I put the headset on while logging into my laptop. I switch the microphone on.
"Check one," I say holding onto the microphone. "Check one, two." It seems okay. No static coming through which is good. I click Skype and open Minecraft. I log in and call a group Skype and wait... First person picks up.
"Hello?" I hear the sweet voice of an American boy.
"Hey Jordan." I say back. Then I hear the line picked up again.
"Welcome to the Yogscast!" I hear two British voices say.
"Simon! Lewis!" I see their faces light up on my computer screen.
"Hey Claire." They say simultaneously.
"Nice to see you guys again."
"Are we waiting for anyone?" Jordan asks. I hear the Skype line run out.
"Yeah, Mitch. He's not picking up." I say sadly. I wouldn't think of recording this session without him. But if he continues his late pick-ups as usual
"He'll call the group. He always does." And like Jordan said, I hear my Skype ringing. I pick it up, and before anyone can say a thing I yell out,
"No hunger games today Mitch. We're on a mission!" I say straight away. A response is received from Mitch with a small whine but then replaced with heavy laughter from the group.
"Indubitably!" Says a giggly voice.
"I'm sorry," I say innocently as I can. "That's just the way it is." He laughs. I log onto my Minecraft and tell the others. I send the boys the server ip and we get started. "You guys all have your headphones on?"
"Yep!"
"You know it!" I take a deep breath.
"Okay, on the count of 3, turn the switch on where the microphone meets the head piece, got it?"
"What will it do?" Mitch asks. I'm guessing he didn't read the brochure everyone got when we first ordered the Head Bounder.
"It'll put your mind and motion controls into the game. Just make sure your motion sensors are off and you should be fine."
"Okay. Got it."
"Simon, Lewis. Care to start us off?"
"ONE!" Simon and Lewis cut to the chase but we all follow them.
"TWO!" I yell.
"THREE!" Jordan and Mitch both yell out and we all click the switch on. As is on cue, my vision is blurry and slowly fading to black. I feel like I'm going blind!
"Guys?" I say clumsily. "Guys?!" No one answers. I start to panic, but the darkness starts to cloud my eyesight. My arms are uselessly flopped on my sides. My head hanging down across my chest. I can't move anything. There's nothing I can do, so I sit back and let myself be taken by the darkness.
Soon enough I can't see a thing and I'm dragged into the world of Minecraft.
