Chapter 3
The results were a little different after I listened to a song by 'Evanescence'. I was actually writhing in agony because the memories became more dramatic and more violent. It was like experiencing that movie, 'War of the Worlds' except maybe ten times that. As I was waiting for the pain to end, my phone vibrated and I greeted the person with a painful "hello".
"Hey Sky."
"Um hi. Can I ask who this is?"
"It's Jack."
I groaned with pain and tried to talk. "How'd you get my number?"
"Sky is something wrong? If it's a bad time I could call you back."
"Could you? Okay thanks."
I hung up without waiting for a reply and gripped my head in pain.
"Someone, make it stop." I whispered. But before anyone could save me, I fainted.
It felt like I was only in darkness for a few minutes, but then in the dream world time is faster right? Well, right before I woke up, a weird thing came up. I'm not even sure if it's a memory. It wasn't a scene like usual. It was a phrase: Marcyn Plaza. Is that a place or something? I don't know either, but one thing's for sure, that place is connected to all the memories I've seen.
So, I got off the floor and went back to the computer. I typed in Marcyn Plaza on the Google Search Engine and it turns out, Marcyn Plaza is only a few miles away from school. Curiosity won and I went through the window. It was already dark by the time I got and the night was breezy. I walked in the direction of my school while wondering what I would find at Marcyn Plaza.
After about half an hour, I arrived at my school and began to follow the directions from the map. When the plaza came into view, I was a little surprised. I mean a plaza is supposed to have all these little shops right? This plaza was a ghost town. There were a few shops open, but they were just barely getting by. I guess a lot of kids use it as a shortcut because there were a lot of footprints and tire tracks in the dirt. I was disappointed, but what was I supposed to expect?
I walked back home until I saw a random stone in the middle. I went over toward it and brushed my hand across it.
I was in Marcyn Plaza, but it was a little earlier. For some reason, I was running and I heard a car. The woman who was a guest at school came rusing in her car at full speed. I couldn't move, but I could hear someone yelling, "Sky!"
I tried to move, but it was too late. The car crashed into me.
I jerked my hand back, out of breath.
I got to get home. I thought.
I ran home without stopping and climbed up to my bedroom. Fortunately, no one noticed my disappearance.
"Sky! Dinner!"
"Coming!"
I raced my sister to the dinner table and saw my mom holding a plate of steamed rice with chicken.
"Yum."
"Yeah, eat up."
I ate until I was full and sat back.
"Mom?"
"Yes?"
"What do you know about Marcyn Plaza?"
My mom's face changed to a thoughtful expression.
"Well...A lot of people died at Marcyn Plaza, but most of them were crazy."
