Chapter 6
The whole day kind of flew by and I hardly even remember anything from school because my mind was on one thing. The kiss. The kiss was actually good, but then again Jack did have some experience. I started walking in the direction of Marcyn Plaza, but a car stopped me. My brother's to be exact.
"Sky, come home."
"No."
"Please come home?"
"No."
"Dang it Sky."
He came out of the car and started walking toward me. I began to back away, but then I started to run. I ran as fast as I could, but he caught up. I turned for one second, but that was it. I bumped into a biker and fell to the ground, but before I entered darkness, I yelled one word. One name. Jack.
"Jack!!!"
I felt arms catch me as I explored the darkness.
Voices cut through and my eyes fluttered open. I was in my bed in Marcyn Plaza and everyone was crowded around the bed.
"Sky?"
"Yeah Marleigh?" I croaked.
Then, I heard a chorus of voices. "She's alive!!!"
"Hi guys."
"Hey Jack."
"Can I talk to Sky?"
"Sure."
Dread creeped into me and I suddenly felt self-concious with the shirt I was wearing.
He sat down and looked at me. After a while, he spoke.
"I heard that you yelled my name right before you fainted."
"I did?"
He nodded.
Crap. But I...I don't love him. Then, why would I?
"And you broke your promise."
"Huh?"
"Your promise to stay safe."
"Oh."
"And you know what the consequences are?"
I shook my head.
He smiled. "A kiss."
I couldn't help but gasp. "Why?"
"Because... You yelled my name. What does that mean Sky? Does that mean you love me? Trust me?"
"No! I don't know."
"Well then, let's see." He whispered.
He gently tilted my head up, and lowered his lips to mine.
At first it started gentle, but then it became more.
I felt myself being scooted toward the wall, but I didn't resist because that was when I realized it. I did love him, but the feelings disappeared because I thought he had changed. His arms went around my waist while mine hung onto his neck. His shirt magically came off and I began to explore his muscles. After a while, we separated to breathe.
He grinned. "You do love me. Don't you?"
I smiled. "Yeah. How long have we known each other?"
"Since third grade, why?"
"Then seventh grade was when you became a jerk."
"Hey! I came back didn't I?"
"Yeah."
"So, what do you want to do."
"Take a walk?"
"Sure."
"Now do you believe me when I say I love you?"
I laughed. "Yes. And I love you too."
As we walked, I saw the stone and my smile shrinked.
"Jack? You know about the stone right?"
"Yeah. Did you ever figure out your memories?"
"No."
"Hey. Forget about it for a couple hours. Let's go shopping in this little shop."
I sighed knowing he was right, and I couldn't let the memories overcome me...Which I've already done, but who cares? "Fine."
We entered the musty shop and looked around.
"Hey Sky what do you think of this necklace?"
I looked at it with interest. It was a simple necklace with a lucky penny in the middle.
"It looks...Lucky."
"Haha, yeah."
He went over to the cash register and bought the necklace.
"I thought you said you didn't have money?"
"I work it off in this shop."
"Oh."
"Here." He clasped the necklace around my neck. "My first gift to you."
"Aw, thank you. I love you too, but you're making me feel bad."
"Don't feel bad. I'm just showing you my love."
"Nevertheless, I'm going to find you something."
I walked through the tiny aisles and stopped at the paintings. Only one caught my attention. The Scream. As I looked at it, I felt like my memories were clicking into place and that's when I realized it. They weren't memories from the past. They were all memories from the future. The future of everyone dying at Marcyn Plaza and The Scream represents their death. I rushed back to Jack.
"Jack, Jack we have to leave. We have to warn everybody."
"What?"
"My memories aren't of the past. They're of the future and everybody's going to die!"
I ran out the door, towards the stone, but at the same time, a car was rushing at me. The driver was the same woman I saw from the stone and here I was, on the stone.
I heard Jack yelling. "Sky!!!!!"
I tried to move, but it was too late. The car crashed into me and I entered the darkness once again.
