Prologue
One hundred and fifteen years. That's how long it has been since World War Three annihilated ninety-nine percent of the globes population with nuclear bombing. Six billion Nine million and three hundred thousand of the human race dead. So many lives gone because of the greed and envy of other countries, for wanting more and more, and the pride of others who'd rather die then look weak. Greed, envy, and pride managed to kill more than six billion lives. The place we once called home has destroyed itself into a barren place of broken buildings, roads filled with ditches and abandoned homes we call the Wasteland otherwise known as North America, or what's left of it anyway. Countless lives lost instantly when the bombings hit, even more after the radiation exposure. The people left were what Charles Darwin would call natural selection, one might say the superiors of mankind. Humans strong enough to keep surviving, through radiation and nuclear bombings, even after facing near extinction humankind is too stubborn and refuses to die out.
There's a place east of North America where the nuclear bombings didn't affect as much. That's where most of what's left of civilization thrives. They rebuilt the ruins of what war left and created a new city they named Genesis. One to represent hope, the very thing that keeps them going. To remind themselves that the earth was destroyed once and was reborn. Slowly by slowly, humanity built itself up again and created a new generation of peace. A utopian society where there is order and justice that is not corrupted by power and money. Things soon change though and three generations later the human race faces something they never have before. Mutation. Rare and uncommon mostly, but growing fast and steady. Children suddenly have unnatural abilities, dangerous abilities, and they have no idea how to contain them. They called the mutant children variables. Like a problem they cannot solve They try to leave them in peace at first and hope for the best, but when a young boy accidentally kills three people in his family with his mere touch, the leaders of Genesis take action and decide that they cannot risk no more lives. Afterwards, they remodeled an old asylum they found on an island about a hundred miles west of Genesis, and set up a prison they called The Dome where they could send all people who tested positive for the mutation and throw them in there. No visitors, no windows, absolutely no freedom. The variables in the The Dome grow angrier day by day, the families of the variables grow bitter and distrustful towards the leaders for having there sons and daughters took away and the leaders of Genesis become too confident in there system, and are foolishly convinced that the peace will be kept. What they don't realize is that history has a way of repeating itself, war is brewing, and this time no one might be left alive.
