The lab had been quiet, Cisco didn't talk much and Caitlin was no where to be found. The only noise was the sound of breathing.
Cisco had been I mess for the last week Lydia had been in hospital, he checked on her daily staying by her side waiting for her to wake up from what he hoped wouldn't be a endless sleep.
The Queen family would come and check up on her while Barry and Cisco weren't there.
"You should go home" Barry said patting Cisco on the shoulder, his face buried in his hands.
"Dude, its fine" Cisco sighed removing his hands from his face revealing his red blood shot eyes.
"No its not, you need sleep." Barry protested politely. "You haven't slept in nearly a week."
Cisco said nothing. "I'll stop by the hospital on my way home and then I'll rest. I promise" Barry nodded getting out of Cisco's way.
Cisco made his way to the hospital where he sat in a chair beside Lydia's bed holding her hand listening to the beep of the machines she was attached too.
He looked over at her and kissed her lips softly, waiting for her to kiss him back. But nothing.
He brought her hand up to his face and hung onto her like her life depended on him holding onto her.
"Don't leave me, Lyd" he whispered into her hand. "I need you"
He fell asleep in the hospital chair when he was awoken by the sound of the machine flat lining.
"No..." He said not believing what was happening. "Please no" tears streamed down his face.
Doctors rushed in pushing him away from her and out the door as they tried to revive her. But the couldn't the doctor stepped away from her body and hung his head low.
Tears streamed down Cisco's face as her cried and repeated the word 'No' each weep louder then the other.
Lydia was a fighter, she wouldn't give up that easy. But it was too late she was gone.
The docter pulled a sheet over her and looked down at the ground disappointed with himself.
