I was frozen.
Terrified.
My hands trembled against the rope that tied them tightly together.
"Aziz!" I screamed his name again, voice cracking. "Aziz, wake up!"
But he didn't move.
He didn't even flinch.
My heart was pounding so violently, I could hear it echoing in my ears—feel it racing through my veins like fire.
I tried to wiggle free—tried everything to loosen the rope—but it was useless. My wrists ached from pulling. I bit down a scream of frustration.
I tried to stand, but pain shot up my leg so sharp and sudden I gasped. One of my legs was badly hurt—I couldn't even tell how. My ankle throbbed, swelling fast.
Then—light.
A soft, glowing line appeared under the door.
Someone was coming.
The door creaked open.
A shadow stepped inside.
Then another.
And another.
Three men.
My eyes darted to the figure they dragged behind them—he was slumped over, unconscious. And when I looked closer, my breath caught in my throat.
"No..." I whispered, voice hollow.
It was Arsh.
My patient's son.
What the hell was he doing here? Why was he tied up?
One of the men—tall, rough, with a scar running down his jaw—smirked at me like he was enjoying my confusion.
