Chapter 2
Colton nailed the Holeshot and cut me off in the second corner, pushing me back to forth.
I slowly worked my way past Divan Anderson and Rylan Russell to the second position. By then, Colton had attained a lead of about six seconds.
With seven laps left, I knew that I was going to need a good stroke of luck. And that's exactly what I got. On lap three, (I had cut his lead to just over two seconds.) Colton fell down. His bike stalled and he got it started just after I passed him. I knew that it was time to go as fast as possible.
At the end of the lap that Colton crashed, I had a 1 second lead. After I took the checkers, I had over a 6 second lead! I was super surprised by how fast I went, and apparently, so was Mitch Payton.
He said that he was looking for a new AMA Supercross Lites racer. He said that I had earned the spot. I immediately told him thank you because that had been my dream ride sense I first started to watch dirtbike racing. I asked him when I would start and he said this year. My world was about to turn upside down.
