My living room smelled like strawberry wax melts, lemon Pine-Sol, and peach Moscato—a warm little mix of me. I'd been running around cleaning since 10 AM because the whole crew was pulling up for a chill night—game night, drinks, movies, and probably a whole lotta loud laughter echoing off my walls.
I stood in the mirror doing a last lip gloss check. I wore a simple chocolate two-piece lounge set, soft and fitted, with my gold "P" initial necklace resting on my chest. My hair was pulled into a loose curly ponytail, with a few tendrils framing my face. My makeup was light, just enough to feel cute, not caked.
"Bubs better not come in here playing with me," I mumbled to myself, smirking as I glanced at the clock. 6:27 PM.
I'd just set out the game IKYFL and Black Card Revoked, and the food was finishing up—wings in the air fryer, mac and cheese baking, sliders warming in the oven. Sasha and Syx were already on their way with drinks and desserts, and the guys said they'd pull up right after the shop closed.
A knock came at the door. I peeked through the peephole and saw three tall shadows posted on my porch.
When I opened it, there stood Legend in grey sweatpants, a cream knitted hoodie, white G-Fazos, and a fresh cut that had him looking edible. He held a bouquet of orange roses and a bottle of D'usse.
Lamar was behind him, wearing all navy with his tattoo sleeves on full display, and Lennox in a caramel cargo fit with a white tee and chains.
"Hey gorgeous ," Legend said, leaning in to kiss my cheek as I let them in.
"Hey, Bubs," I grinned, butterflies lighting up my stomach.
He handed me the flowers and whispered, "For my fine-ass girl."
Sasha and Syx pretended not to watch but I caught them peeking from the kitchen, giggling.

We gathered in the kitchen, sipping Dusse as Sasha and Syx helped me clean up and pack leftovers. The conversation flowed easily, bouncing from salon drama to nursing shifts.
"So... you and Legend?" Syx asked, raising an eyebrow.
I tried to play it cool. "What about us?"
"Girl, don't do that. He be looking at you like you hung the stars," Sasha said, bumping my hip. "I ain't never seen him this locked in."
"He's sweet," I said, biting back a smile. "Like... he listens. Really listens. And when he looks at me, I don't feel like I gotta hide parts of myself."
The three of us exchanged those little "awww" sounds, knowing something real was blossoming.

The room was alive with laughter and smoke curling from the hookah as we dove into IKFLY by Terrel Grice on the speakers, setting the perfect smooth vibe. Instead of Cards Against Humanity or Uno, we were playing Black Card Revoked, throwing out wild scenarios and roasting each other in the best way.
Pandora and Legend sat close on the couch, their hands brushing more and more until finally, they leaned in and shared a soft kiss that made the whole room pause.
"Aw, damn," Sasha whispered, eyes sparkling. "That's my girl!"
Syx and I exchanged knowing looks, smiling wide as the rest of the group let out a collective "awwwww."
Lennox elbowed Lamar, grinning. "Man, they got us beat. Look at them—can't keep their hands off each other."
Lamar laughed, shaking his head. "Yeah, yeah, lovebirds. Now who's gonna lose this round? 'Cause I'm distracted."
Legend smirked, pulling Pandora a little closer. "Guess we're both winners tonight."
The teasing continued but lighthearted, everyone happy to see them growing closer.

We each took our own showers, the steam swirling around us separately, washing away the stress of the day. I stood under the warm water, letting it cascade over my skin, thinking about how gentle he'd been tonight—how patient. When I stepped out, I wrapped myself in a soft towel, smelling the faint trace of his cologne still lingering on him from earlier.
Legend was already in the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed. The soft glow from the bedside lamp made everything feel quiet and safe.
I slipped under the covers beside him, the sheets cool against my skin.
He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from my face and looked at me with those deep eyes I was quickly falling for.
Slowly, he leaned in and kissed me, soft and searching.
When his lips pulled away just a little, he whispered, "Baby... can I kiss you like this? Can I—can I touch you more?"
My breath caught in my throat, but I smiled. "Yes, Bubs. I want that.
