Harry's POV:
I got to my school fifteen minutes early. I wanted to make sure my mom had a good seat to watch me from. "Mr. Styles." The principal said to me, "Please get in row 4, sit in chair 5." I did as he said and started to gaze around the giant gym room. It's quite plain when everything is put away. There's not a sign that a class full of sweaty kids running and playing ball were in here just a few hours earlier. The blue and white walls were brighter than they had been. Probably polished. The wood floor was also sparkling. "Ugh, I'm bored." I complained. My mom, standing next to me, laghued. "Honey, you have about an hour or two left at this school. Enjoy it." I shook my head, "I can't! I'm bored!"
Louis' POV:
I walked into the gym. Astonished by how clean and put together it looked. "This gym is huge." My mom said, traveling behind me. "Mr. Tomlinson," The principal approached me. "Sit in row 4, seat 6." I did what I was told. Realizing my last name, I breathed out a sigh. "This'll take forever.." I said under my breath. "Awkward," Harry mumbled.
"Hello, thank you everyone, parents, grandparents, etcetera for showing up here tonight. It's a huge moment in our students' lives. So without further ado, please welcome our valedictorian, Amy West." The principal concluded. The crowd went nuts. Cheering and clpping roared. One parent even screamed out, "That's my baby!" While a student yelled, "I love you Amy!" She blushed and smiled, "Thank you. Now this is a huge moment in our lives. This is the next step in our journey. Each and every one of you who I have got a wonderful opportunity to meet over these years has a huge opportunity for success. Each and over one of us will succeed. Now let's take this time to appreciate this school. Appreciate the moments and memories that you will carry for the rest of your life..."
Amy rambled on about how we can succeed and we should try our best to get far in life, blah blah blah. One part of her speech I payed close attention to, tears filling my eyes. "Cherish these last few moments. Look to your left, to your right, look forward, look back. These are people whol you may or may not see again. Please tell them you're lucky to have had the opportunity to meet them in your life. And please relive a shared moment with them. If you can't, just tell them the first part." I looked to my right, forward, and back. I did what Amy had said. Then I looked to my left. Harry was sitting there, wiping his eyes.
"Harry," I started, "I'm lucky to have had this opporunity to have met you in my life. Do you remember when in the hospital I never left your side?" I said, voice small. Harry smiled and said, "Do you remember your first day here? I do. I'm sorry I bullied you. The truth was I liked you and I didn't know how to show it." He laughed. Amy continued to ramble but I payed no attention, I was too engrossed in my conversation with Harry.
Harry's POV:
"I hate Ms. White," I whsipered to Louis as she announced the first name. "Why?" Louis asked. "Last year she caught me ditching my second class and suspended me for three days. Not even a detention, I got suspended." He said with a roll of his eyes. I laughed a little.
She went on for about fourty-five minutes before she got remotely close to my name. Seven names before me. Now six. Five. Four minutes passed before, "Harry Styles," She said into the mic. I jumped up out of the chair proudly. My mom jumped up and started yelling like a maniac. "Yeah! My baby! He did it!" I heard her scream all the way up on stage. I took the mic from Ms. White for a moment and spoke, "This is for anyone who told me I couldn't do it. Fuck you! And mom....calm down." Walking off stage, a lot of parents gasped at me for what I said. I just shrugged and held my diploma high. "Good speech, really moved me." Louis said, throwing a light punch into my arm. I smiled.
"Louis Tomlinson." Ms. White called. He stood up, smoothed out his gown and fixed his cap, then started up the stage. "Why does he bother even trying to look good when he's ugly?" One student whispered to me. "Say it again and I'll punch you in the face. Not a threat a promise." I said, eyes never leaving Louis as he was handed his certificate. He raced down the stairs and ran right over to me. He scooped me up in his arms and twirled around. "We did it, Harry! Our lives are starting now!" He cheered. His mom walked over and hugged him tight. As did my mom. "Congrats, boys!" They both said in sync. Then as if they shared one brain, they pulled out their phones and started snapping pictures of us. We posed like professional models, one picture looking very tough, the next we shared a hug, the other we kissed.
Louis' POV:
"Mom, can I see the picture where we're kissing." I asked. She handed me her phone. I looked down at the screen. It was perfect. The way the light shining through the gym glistened again our cheeks, defining them. How perfect our heads were positioned. The picture was in terrific quality, too. This picture was astonishing. "Wow," I gasped, "this is amazing. I need a copy. Okay?" I said. Harry came up behind me. "Let me see!" He said. "Mrs. Tomlinson, I'm getting a copy also. This is awesome." Anne seen and said the same, "Give me a copy, too." My mom smiled, very pleased that she took an amazing picture. "So, who's hungry?" My mom asked, "We can all go get something to eat."
