I felt the warm sun rays hit my skin from the little part of the curtains that had not been closed. I groaned as my beauty sleep was now over. I tried to sleep for as long as possible until I heard the door creak open and footsteps come towards my bed.
"Celina? Are you up?" My father, the king of Solaria whispered.
"No," I replied in my groggy morning voice.
"Well, it's time to get up princess," he said.
I sat myself up in bed and looked at my father. "Don't you understand the concept of beauty sleep?" I asked rubbing my eyes with a yawn.
He laughed, "Now you sound like your mother."
"Yeah, well I'm going back to sleep," I said laying back down, pulling my baby blue covers over my head.
"Don't tell me you've forgotten what day it is," He said.
"It's Tuesday," I mumbled.
"Nope," He said, popping the p.
Though he couldn't see it I was furrowing my brow from underneath my covers. It was Tuesday. Hmmmm. Maybe a holiday? Birthday? Ball?
I heard a sigh and the sound of heels against the hard marble floor. "She forgot didn't she?" My mother Queen Stella said to my father, King Brandon. After a moment of silence my mom spoke again, "I guess she'll just miss the first day of Alfea."
I shot out from under my covers like a rocket, making the sheets fall to the floor. I ran to my dresser and looked at myself. I was a mess. My hair looked like a rats nest, my face was oily, and it only took me a few extra seconds to realize that I hadn't packed anything.
"Oh my gosh! Alfea! I can't believe I forgot! I have to pack and I need a serious trip to spa," I said to myself in the mirror. My parents snickered from the doorway. "What's so funny?"
"It's just funny how unprepared you are," my mom said. Boy was she one to talk.
"When you first found out about Alfea when you were eight; you had a suitcase packed that very night. And now that the day has come, well, you aren't quite living up to what your eight year old self would have wanted," Dad explained with a light chuckle. I couldn't help but laugh myself. It was true.
Flashback
"Mommy! Daddy!" I yelled for them in the Solarian Library where I was reading an old Alfea year book of my mom's that I found in the library. Mom and Dad came running in with worried looks on their faces.
"Is something wrong Celina?" Dad asked as he saw I was just fine.
"Well I wanted to ask you about this book I found in the library," I said while holding the book out for them to see.
"My old Alfea year book" Mom said taking it from my hands. "Those were the days," She started flipping through the year book laughing, smiling, and pointing out pictures of her to dad.
Once mom put the book down I asked them, "So Alfea is a school?"
Mom and dad looked at me and mom said, "Yes it's where young fairies go to school to learn about magic. It's where your father and I fell in love," She said while her dad locked gazes.
"Wait so Dad went there to?" I was confused I thought Alfea was girls only.
"Oh no, I went to Red Fountain a school for Heroics and Bravery, just an enchanted forest away," Dad told me.
"Oh okay."
"So did you need to ask us something or did you just want to show us the yearbook," mom asked me.
"Well, I want to go to Alfea," I stated proudly.
Mom looked at me sympathetically, "I'm sorry sweetie you're too young right now and your powers still need to excel." I started to pout.
"How about this," Dad began, "When your powers have improved and your old enough and we think you're ready, and then you may be able to go to Alfea."
My eyes lit up like the Solarian sun. "Thank You, Thank you," I said while hugging them both.
Flashback Over
My parents had left to help me prepare for my first day at Alfea. I got dressed into a cute little dress with a light blue ruffled skirt and cuffs and a darker blue bodas and boots. Once I brushed out my hair I put a headband in. Then I scrubbed my face and applied my makeup.
Using my magic sorting through my clothes was quite easy. A simple spell my mom had taught me a few years back. I sorted them into a total of six bags, which was an all-time low for me. Hey, I was in a rush! Anyways I used a levitation spell to carry my bags behind me and walked down the stairs where both my parents were waiting.
"Only 6 bags I'm impressed Celina," Said my mother with a little giggle.
"Yeah I tried my best," I told her then hugged her goodbye.
"I hate to break up this beautiful mother daughter moment but aren't you forgetting someone," my dad said. I turned to find him with his arms spread out. I ran to them and hugged him tightly and he kissed my forehead.
When he released he looked me direct in the eye, "Now, no flirting with the Red Fountains guys."
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah right dad, whose daughter do you think I am?" Dad grinned. Mom opened the portal right in the throne room, so once she said it was stable I stepped through it.
