The coffee house was vibrant, spewing shades of yellow and brown all around us.
We sat at the table facing the window, I always felt mesmerized by the faces of people passing by.
Joshua bought a Chocolate Mocha for himself and a Black Coffee for his companion, in other words, me.
The bittersweet taste of the black coffee mixed with sugar awoke me from a deep slumber every morning. It made me feel a sense of warmth inside; something I could never feel on my own, nor with others.
I looked over at Joshua, surprisingly, he looked a bit older. I spotted a few wrinkles around his cheek bones and under his eyes; as well as a few grey hairs in his scalp.
He did say that it had been two years since we last saw each other.
No, but that's impossible! It only felt like a week had passed!
Without realizing it, my coffee cup fell to the floor with a loud crash. After a few seconds though, I looked down at Joshua cleaning up after me.
"Oh crap! I'm so sorry!" I crouched down to help him.
"No, no. It's okay. Just go sit down; I'll buy you another cup."
I started feeling dizzy.. Many thoughts began to crowd inside my head.
What am I doing here?
What's wrong with me?
Why does Joshua look so much older? And then it hit me, that wish.
