Chapter 17

LOKI'S POV

After Lady Roxxanne left the other Avengers obviously saw no reason to stay, so they began to file out until only Thor and I remained. "I see no reason as to why you are still here Thor." I say with a slight sneer. How could he even think to bring up Laufey at all in my presence. "Loki, what I said about your father..." He trailed off not knowing how to complete the sentence. I turn and face him looking at him with pure disgust. "Don't. I know why you said it Odinson, to try and humiliate me in front of her hmm? Or maybe you thought to reveal the monster that I am. Well as you now know she already knew. I told her about it, that's how I found out about her true feelings toward her brother." Thor lowered his head looking almost ashamed of himself. "I did mean to ridicule you, for that I am sorry, but I will not lose her to you. She is mine, she has always been before you and she will be after you come to your senses and stop trying to steal her away from me, like some great thief in the night." I chuckle slightly. "You think this all some great game to me? You don't think I truly love her?" Thor snapped his head up an squinted at me. " I know that you don't! Ever since you found out that she was mine, that's when you took interest in her." I shook my head. "You could not be more wrong. From the moment she peeked her head around your huge body to look at me and every moment after I have been in love with her!" Thor gripped his hair hard and let go again. "You liar! You are lying! You don't love her Loki, please just leave us be so I can be happy with her."I throw my hands up exasperated with him. "What about my happiness? She is my happiness, Thor and I need her. You, You could have anybody you wanted, but me only she could possibly even consider loving someone like me. How may people do you know that would put themselves between you and I and then end up slapping you on my behalf?" Thor shook his head this time. "I know of none, Loki but that means nothing just because she protected you. She is a hero it is what she does, but how many times has she said she loves you?" I dropped my head. "She hasn't. But I also haven't told her either." Thor nodded. "Fine then you shall tell her and we will see what happens." With that he opened my room door and we walk to Lady Roxxanne's.

Outside her room I move in front of Thor stopping near it. "You great oaf she does not want to see us right now." I said stopping Thor before he could touch the handle. He raises his eyebrows at me. "Are you afraid Loki? Do you believe she will not tell you that she loves you?" I look down, that's exactly what I am afraid of. I won't let him know that though. I shake my head and motion for him to open it. He nods and pushes the door open, we inch inside to see Lady Roxxanne curled in to the archer's arms as she sniffles into his chest and he pats her hair as he rocks her. "Minn Savass?" I hear Thor say oh sure now he's calling her 'my love' I think with a roll of my eyes. She lifts her head off of Clint's chest and looks back at us. My heart breaks instantly at the sight of her, she looks pale and her eyes are red and blotchy. She turns back to Clint and whispers something before she puts her head back down. Her best friend clears his throat bringing our attention to him. "Uh guys, Roxxie really doesn't want to see either of you right now." He pulls his friend closer to him hugging her frame. "But we only need to inquire something of her." Clint looks down shrugging and Lady Roxxie's head shakes no. Looking back up to us he shakes his head as well. "Sorry Thor, I'm only being her best friend and right now what she says goes." Thor nods his head. " I understand my friend we shall come back later." Thor pushes me out the door and into the hallway. "Do not think that this is over brother." He spits out before he walks away. " I am NOT your brother." I hiss out to his retreating figure as I return to my own room.
