Chapter 20

Roxxie's POV
I swung through New York until I saw a familiar tower. Stark Tower was just about abandoned the only thing left in use was the penthouse so I decided to go there. I dropped on Tony's Ironman landing pad and walked through the doors, no voice greeted me. I remembered Tony and I agreed Jarvis would be better suited with all the avengers so we moved him to the mansion. I walked over to the tv and turned it on and sat on the couch. I don't even know why I bothered trying to hold out no one was around and I let go and bawled my eyes out. "Some genius I am, I let the best thing I had go. Stupid, just plain stupid." I reached in my pocket for my phone so I could call Clint and tell him to come meet me, only to realize it wasn't there. "And I forgot my phone, it's just my lucky day isn't it?" I asked sarcastically. I got up to go use the land line but when I called Clint he didn't answer. So I called the Captain. "You've reached Steve Rogers voicemail sorry I couldn't answer." Okay. This is getting weird I put the phone down and walked back outside to stand on Ironman's platform and I just lied down letting my legs hang over the edge. "Not your day is it, Little Arachnid?" I sat up at light speed. "Dr. Octavius, I would say I'm not surprised but I told somebody I wouldn't lie anymore so I can't say that.  Why are you here?" He just smiled. "Because I will get my revenge on you and now seems like the perfect time, you're all alone and out of costume America's Spider or should I say Roxxanne Stark?" I stood up from the platform, "You know the uniform doesn't give me my powers?" I questioned right before I jumped off the building. "No! Don't let her escape!" I hear him call out, I look behind me as I swing, the other members of the Sinister Five are after me. 'This really isn't my day. No boyfriend and now no back up or a way to call for it.' I say in my head. Running was my only option or it was  until I looked down and saw a newsman taking out a camera and pointing it at a reporter. I let go of my web and rolled in front of her, popping up I looked her then the camera. "Uh sorry to interrupt your program but, Captain or Ironman I need some assistance! If you see this the Sinister Five is trying to kill me and I'm alone! Back up like right now at the park! Avengers assemble!" I turned and ran down the sidewalk and dove in a bush. "Please guys hurry up." I whispered to myself.
Loki's Pov
I paced in front of the tv in the common room where the Avengers had all gathered to try to figure out where Roxxie was. "Sir, you may want to see this." Jarvis said switching the tv on to the news. "A desperate cry for help from Roxxanne Stark in need of her team." The reporter said then the feed switched and a frantic Roxxanne popped up on screen. "Uh sorry to interrupt your program but, Captain or Ironman I need some assistance! If you see this the Sinister Five is trying to kill me and I'm alone! Back up like right now at the park! Avengers assemble!" The Avengers moved at top speed, Clint turned to face me before getting in the elevator with Bruce and the Captain. "You have to stay! We can't risk anybody noticing you." I wasn't allowed to respond as the elevator doors shut in my face.
