“I think she might be worse than Commander Axel and Coach Flowers put together.” Aiden groans when he closes the door the behind us. “I haven’t been this sore since my first day at G”. I collapse onto the couch and try to regain feeling in my legs.
“Tell me about it! I’m going to hear her in my dreams tonight going ‘left left left right left! Pick up those knees Smith!’” I can’t help but groan when Aiden picks up my legs and puts them on his lap.
“Look on the bright side, tomorrow is Saturday.”
“Yah, but I’ll have to work on that stupid biology project with Chad.”
“Good luck with that. I’m gonna hit the hay, so turn off the lights when you’re done in here.” With that Aiden stretches his muscles and shuffles to his room. When I hear Aiden’s door close, I drag myself into the kitchen so I can indulge myself in my new guilty pleasure. Five minutes later I’m curled up on the couch, scooping ice-cream into my mouth and watching Pocahontas.

It’s quiet…too quiet. The silence in my room is unnerving. Where is that damn alarm clock?! I slowly reach under my pillow to grab the sheathed knife I keep under my pillow and pull it under the covers. Just as I’m about to unsheathe it…
“Did you really think I don’t know how to avoid a knife?” A smooth voice drawls from beside my head.
“We could put it to the test if you don’t tell me why you’re in my room.” I hiss.
“We have a biology project right?” Chad snorts. “I think I’ll wait in the living room while you pull yourself together.” There are no footsteps to reveal his movement, so I have to peek from under my blankets. He’s gone. I wonder…is he half ghost or half vampire? I peel the warm covers off my body and zombie walk into the bathroom. The blistering hot water is just what I need to release the tension in my body.
“Morning, Addy.” I call while I pull a box of cereal down from the cabinet.
“Morning, Jeda.” Aiden replies between sips off coffee. Aiden seems to fit quite nicely into the apartment; almost as if he belongs here. His feet are on the table while he sips coffee and reads a sports magazine.
“Addy?” A voice behind me asks with a hint of humor. Of course this earns me a death glare from Aiden. Whoops! I forgot mister ghost vampire is here.
"What do you want Marcus?" Aiden sighs and turns to face Chad.
"My bestest friend Jeda and I have a biology project to do. Is that alright Addy?" Chad replies with a sugary sweet voice and the biggest fake smile I've ever seen.
