Chapter 3: Madison High

 

Beeep beep beeep beeeeeeeeeeep

Damn alarm clock! Just shut up, I’m awake! While sleep walking to the bathroom I kick or push aside anything that happens to get between me and a hot shower. When I finally get in the shower I allow the hot water to jolt awake my body and wake me up. Pulling a towel tightly around myself I walk back into my bedroom and notice a package on my nightstand. When I reach the box I see that there's a note attached

Jeda

These are the clothes you will be expected to wear on your first day at Madison High School. Don't worry though, you can go shopping later. Also enclosed are the gadgets I showed you yesterday and a wallet that has some cash and a debit card. Your name is going to be Jeda Smith while you’re at school. The others will meet you under the bleachers at 4:00. You and Aiden need to immerse yourselves in different social groups. Aiden has the keys to the apartment you guys will be staying in. The others willl be staying in neighboring apartment on the same floor. Good luck darling :) And stay as safe as possible.

Under the note there was a pair of dark wash jeans, a frilly purple top, silver earrings and a charm bracelet, with a single lion charm. Looking closely at the charm, I see the words Stay Strong engraved in the back. After getting dressed I walk down to the hall for a quick and final Gryphon breakfast before my first day as a junior in high school.

“Hey Jeda, over here!” I here Aiden shout from across the room before I make my way over to him. Aiden is wearing a pair of low rise jeans and light blue plaid button down shirt over a white t-shirt, with the X-Ray Bans tuck into the front of his shirt. I never thought I’d say this, but he looks good. I walk over to him sit down and pick up toast from the tray he got me. Scrambled eggs and toast… yummy. I take a bite and moan, yup …uber yummy! Then I notice something vital missing from my tray.

“Um, Aiden?”

“Yah?”

“Don’t you ‘yah’ me!” I point at the empty space on the tray and his eyes widen in horror.

“Oh crap!” he yells and jumps up from the table running towards the other side of the hall. He returns after five minutes, kneels in front of me and holds out a cup of amazing caffeine goodness.

“Your mocha Mi Lady. Just the way you like it. Whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle”

“Thank you sir Aiden, you may rise.” I say and take a sip of the coffee heaven.

“Ok enough goofing around Jeda. Phil is waiting outside to take us to school” Aiden say while chuckling and dusting himself off.

The driver, Phil, pulls up outside a lorge brick building. 'Madison High School' is written in gold lettering on the sign out front.

Aiden and I walk into the administration office of the school side by side. It turns out that Aiden got a package similar to mine, so his new name is Aiden White. We both walk to the granny looking receptionist who’s busy with the truckload of paperwork on her desk top. When she see us she simply shoves everything to the side and stares.

“Hi I’m Aiden White” Aiden says and points his index finger at his chest then looks at me

“And I’m Jeda Smith. It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss.” I say and extend my right hand. The lady just looks at it before turning on the intercom and making an announcement

“Would Miss. Serenity Jindal please come to the front office”  When the receptionist is done with her announcement she hands us each a schedule and a map of Madison High. A few moments later an Indian looking girl comes skipping into the office. She skips right up to Aiden and shakes his hand. Aiden shoots me a panicked look. He isn’t quite used to people approaching him when he has the whole dangerous bad boy persona in place. After Serenity repeats the same action with me, she introduces herself.
