Shaking Sheldon reach out to open his closet, his hand grasped the handle so tight his knuckles began to turn white. Slowly the door begun to open. He knew what he wanted , it was time he looked back into his past however what he didn't know he was looking into his future as well. The box worked it way into his hands. When he opened it, the box creaked with neglect and age but it its job to keep a very special thing safe.
Inside this box of memories. The one thing that held the most importance was a baby hand print that his daughter made a day after she was born, he picked it up and placed his worn hand into the imprint. He could the ridges of the hand print, this was the closest thing he would ever get to his daughter, who was taken too young, ever again. He placed the hand imprint back in the box, then the box made its way into his bag.
After this Sheldon lumbered across the hall to Penny's, when he got there, a smell he knew too well wafted to his nose.
"I cooked your favourite food, it might be little undercooked!" said Penny trying to keep the mood light
"Well it would help if you waited for the water to boil." Sheldon quickly retorted with a hint of humour touching his voice.
"It would also help if I could afford a working stove" Penny bit back, smiling when she saw the light return to her Shelly's eyes. At that moment a look of relief and happiness was shared then in the next they both dissolved in to laughter.
After the laughing "it feels so good to tell someone, after all these years. I still feel the guilt and grief but you did lighten the load." Said Sheldon trying to tell Penny how much he has done for him since they've met and in those couple of hours after the truth came out.
"Sheldon I don't expect you to keep the mask of indifference on. You've lost someone very dear to. Even though it may have been years ago she was your daughter." Penny said knowing what grief is like.
"Would you like help dishing up or shall I set the table" Sheldon said not liking where the conversation is going.
" Shelly just set the table, I've nearly finished dishing up." Penny said wishing Leonard was like this when they were dating. "Sheldon have you heard the boys saying we'd make a good couple?" Penny wishing that she hadn't said what she did, Sheldon had heard this and wonder what answer did he really have.
"Penny... thank for helping me but can it answer it later, I've just broken up with the hag from hell" Sheldon said his eyes showing the hate he has for Amy.
