TRS (The Robot Survivors.)

Chapter 8

 David picked up Jims gun and ammo. Anton was looking at him , had he no respect for the dead. David understood the look.

"It's what he would have wanted." David said.

Anton gave no objection, he was probably right , Jim would have wanted them to survive and his equipment gave them the best possible chance.

"They must have been waiting for us, the robots , they knew about the bunker after last time. They  started patrolling it ages ago." said Anton.

"We better stock up on food then, we may be faced with a siege." said Ryan.

"We have enough stuff." said David.

"Everyone thinks they have enough , then when the siege is on , slowly it all goes and then you starve, history has taught us that." Ryan said grimly. 

"You have read about the sieges of castles before haven't you?" Ryan asked.

"Well lets see how things go then." grunted David.

"I'll carry his body back so we can bury it." said Anton picking up Jim's body in a firemans lift , his blood poured onto Antons hoody. They began to walk back to the bunker. The sun would soon be coming up and they didn't want John to come looking for them. They were walking along when Anton realised tears in David's eyes , on seeing that , Anton could see he immediately wiped them away.

"Are you alright?" asked Anton.

"I'm fine." said David forcefully.

"It's Jim isn't it?" Anton tried again.

"I said I'm fine!" David snapped with a voice that sent the opposite message.

"I understand what it's like to lose someone." said Anton.

"What do you think we were , loving partners?" he asked raising his voice.

Anton decided to leave it , he remembered the trauma he went through after losing his sister. He hadn't fully gotten over it , he never thought or spoke about it , he tried to forget about it. 

Jim's body was weighing Anton down and his shoulders ached, his hoody was covered in Jim's blood.  Anton would probably have to throw it away.

They reached the bunker , they opened the doors and they knew this was the worst bit . They would have to tell everyone about Jim's death.

 Gary walked down the steps into the bunker first , then David , then Ryan and then Anton carrying Jim.

Everyone was in the main hall , talking and eating. They all looked up when they saw the scavenging group coming down the steps. Amy was sitting with Paul and Isabella. She looked over and saw Anton carrying Jim.

"Is that Jim?" she asked to no one in particular.

Paul stood up from his seat and ran over to Anton. Connor went over and took Jim off Anton's shoulders. Anton was covered in blood.

"Are you okay?" Paul asked immediately.

"I'm fine." Anton told him.

"I was so worried , you were ages!" said Paul.

"Yeah well we had to blow up a house and it does take a while to do that." joked Anton.

Paul hugged him , he did get covered in blood but he didn't care. Shelly came over and hugged Anton and kissed him. Amy glared at her. Isabella laughed.

We will have to bury him." said John grimly.

"Connor , leave him in the coffin room , we'll sort him out after." he added.
