Chapter 11

**** 5 months later****
"Luke I cannot believe that today was my due date and the doctor said that Elena and Samuel won't come for another two weeks!"
"I know babe, so since we still haven't told anybody about the twins we should probably call our families over to the house and tell them even though you aren't that big and you can't even tell you are pregnant."
"Okay sounds good, especially since we still don't have everything we need and they could help out a lot."
Luke called his mom and dad and brother and sister, while Maddie called her mom, brother, and sister. Maddie didn't talk to her brother Jake that much but she figured he would want to know, even though he is only sixteen and lives with their dad whom Maddie and Lexie don't speak to.
"Ok Maddie my family will be here in 5 mins, and I'm assuming yours will to since they live in the same neighbor hood?"
"Hahaha, yeah they said they would be here in 5 except my brother, he lives down the road so it should take him like a minute or two to get here."
"Okay let's get some snacks out for them"
*** knock knock***
Maddie goes and opens the door, and she just stands there s minute staring at her brother whom she hasn't seen in over a year.
"Hey Mads"
"Hi Jake"
Maddie forgets everything and just decides to hug her brother.
"Omg Jake, I'm so glad you came. I've missed you so much it's not even funny."
"I know mads I missed you too, and so has dad, Maddie you should really call him and have him come over, if what you're announcing is really that important."
"Jake I haven't talked to dad in 5 years what am I supposed to do call him and say hey dad I need you to come over?"
" well you better think of something to say to him mads, cause he's kind of on his way, I figured it was important and you would regret not telling him so I told him to wait a couple minutes after I left and then head over here."
"Jake how..."
Maddie was interrupted by a knock at the door. When she opened the door her dad was standing there and behind him Luke's family, and then Maudie's mom and sister.
"Hey everybody come in, it's nice to see you all, LUKKKEEEE YOUR FAMILY IS HERE!"
Maddie looked at her dad, her dad looked at her.
"Hi dad."
"Hey mads."
Everybody went into the living room and took a seat.
"Okay ya'll, you're probably wondering why me and Maddie called you all over here."
" Well, me and Luke called you over here to tell you that I'm pregnant... With twins! Their names are Samuel and Elena. I was actually due today but the doctor said it could most likely be another 2 weeks."
"Maddie and I were trying to keep it a secret as long as possible, but you can still hardly tell Maddie is pregnant, so we figured we'd let ya'll know."
"Well, with that out of the way, Luke and I have snacks and drinks in the kitchen feel free to help yourselves."
Everybody but Lexie goes into the kitchen.
" Maddie!! What were you thinking? Why did u invite dad? "
" I didn't lex!"
" well then who did?"
"Jake..."
"Oh.."
***5 days later***
"Luke I'm kind of glad that Jake told my dad to come, it's been five years since I've seen or talked to him, and now he's been texting me since then telling me how much he regrets not having a relationship with me the past five years."
"That's great babe!"
" yeah it I...."
Maddie stopped mid sentence.
"Babe what wrong? Is everything ok?!"
" yeah everything is fine Luke, I just think the doctor was wrong about the twins coming 2 weeks late!"
"What makes you say that mads?"
"Because they are coming now, Luke you need to get me to the hospital ASAP!!"
"Oh my goodness Maddie, ok um go get in the car I'll grab a few things and call the hospital to tell them we are on our way!"
*** 15 mins later***
Maddie and Luke arrive at the hospital, Luke jumps out of the car and grabs Maddie, he decides to just carry her in, so Luke picks her up and runs into the hospital.
"Hi my name is Luke Bryan, and My wife Maddie Bryan is in labor, like NOW!"
" ok sir follow me."
Luke (still carrying Maddie) takes off following the nurse into a hospital room.
"Hey Luke?"
"Yeah babe?"
"You know I am capable of walking right?"
"Oh yeah sorry"
Luke puts Maddie down and she climbs in the hospital bed.
" Luke, we are gonna become parents today."
" I know dear, I'm going to call everybody and let them know, do you want me to call your dad?"
"Yeah, and if you could call Jenna too that would be great!"
While Luke is in the parking lot calling everybody, the doctor comes in.
"Hi Maddie how are you today?"
"I'm great!"
"Well I'm just going to check and see how dilated you are and we will go from there."
"Okay thanks doc."
A couple minutes later the doctor says.
"How bad are your contractions? "
"Umm they are about a minute and a half apart, I feel like this has happened like really fast, I mean it is five days past my due date, but I was having contractions maybe every couple hours just this morning and now they are every minute it feels."
"Well Maddie you are already 10 cm dilated, so I'm going to have you start to push!"
"Umm, can we wait till my husband gets back in here?"
"If you can wait then sure we can wait for your husband, but in a minute or so I don't think you will want to wait."
"Okay then can you have a nurse or somebody run out to the parking lot and grab him?"
"Yes ma'am."
Five minutes later the nurse cam back in with Luke, and Maddie had just started to push.
"Just a couple more pushes Maddie and baby number 1 will be out" said the doctor.
"Come on babe your doing great"
Because everything happened so fast, Maddie didn't get an epidural so she is doing this drug free.
A couple seconds later Maddie hears
"Wahhhhh, wahhhhh"
"Oh my gosh Maddie, our daughter is gorgeous... She looks just like you"
Maddie is in tears at the sound of her new born babies, screams, she couldn't believe that her and Luke were officially parents, but it's not over yet there is still another baby.
"Okay Maddie are you ready to start pushing again, and get your second baby out?"
"Yes"
This baby just did not want to come out, 10 minutes later the doctor says,
"It's a beautiful baby boy"
