"Eros Plaza?" Aaron questioned Scarlet.
"Yeah. I don't explain things very well, so you're gonna have to go to Birch for that." Scarlet replied a huge smile on her face, like she knew something Aaron didn't.
"Birch? Like the type of tree? I have to see a tree to understand what the hell's going on. Wonderful. This place keeps getting weirder and weirder." Aaron shook her head and fought to keep in a laugh.
"No silly. Birch is a name. The name of the most informed person among us." Scarlet laughed "A tree..."
"If you're through laughing at me... Where might I find this Birch? Oh wait, don't tell me... The giant tree in the middle of this place?" Aaron said putting so much sarcasm into her voice, it made Scarlet burst into giggles all over again.
"Actually... yes..." Scarlet managed to get out in between giggle fits.
"You've got to be kidding me. It was a joke!" Aaron said exasperated.
"I know... that's why it's.... so funny!" Scarlet said trying to keep a straight face, but failing miserably.
"Whatever. I'll go se Birch. In the giant tree." Aaron said walking to the center of the square. She came up to the tree and noticed that the areas she originally thought were hollow spaces, were actually windows, and the cracks in the bark actually shaped a door. Before Aaron was within 5 feet the door swung open and a tall redhead stood in the door frame. He smiled and walked into the trunk, which also seemed to be his house. The trunk from the outside hadn't seemed humongous, but the inside was larger than 10 large cows standing side by side.
"You hungry? I've got anything you can imagine. Pizza, wings, cupcakes, omelets, whatever. I've also got plenty to drink." Birch asked Aaron.
"Nah, I think I'll pass for now." She said glancing around the place, taking in every detail and putting it into her memory.
"Well all you gotta do is ask. Anyway you're here so I can explain this whole situation right?" Birch asked pausing so Aaron could nod her head. "Well first and foremost, I have to ask a couple questions. First: Pick an element."
"Water." Aaron said almost without thinking.
"Now, pick what you think is the best thing in the world."
"Love."
"Good. Now focus on this glass of water and imagine what you would want it to do...." and from behind his back Birch brought a glass of water and plopped it (none too gently) onto the table, some of it spilling over the edge. Aaron wasn't about to question him, so she eyed the water on the table and imagined it rising and pouring itself back into the glass. When she opened her eyes, there was no water on the table and the glass had just a bit more water.
"Did I do that?"
"Yeah, it's our special ability. Whatever element you picked when I asked you, that element is now at your disposal," Aaron's face brightened,"with a couple limits and rules of course."
"Rules....." Aaron said eyeing Birch suspiciously.
"Like don't ever try and control the water within a living person and don't try to create anything unnatural that lives. Basically other than that anything goes."
"Wow. Wait. How do I know that you're not lying to me about any of this."
"Did you not just move the water with your mind?"
"I guess I did." Aaron said in disbelief.
"And all because you believe in love."
