The Royal Courtroom buzzed with unease.
Today was not like the others. The air itself was heavier, thick with something unspoken.Queen Y/n sat regally on the throne of Welkin, her emerald robe pooling around her like a river of command. Three months had passed since her return from the forbidden kingdom of Azurethra, and not a day had gone by when King Yoongi hadn’t stood by her side—cherishing her, protecting her, slowly tearing down the walls between them.
But now, whispers stirred.
The ministers bowed, yet their eyes were sharp—curious. Tense.
“Your Majesties,” Chancellor Ryun began, holding a scroll that trembled slightly in his hands. “We have troubling reports from the south. Our trade scouts saw a fleet near Liora… bearing Azurethran runes on their sails.”
The courtroom fell into a cold hush.
King Yoongi’s eyes darkened. He stepped closer to Y/n as though to shield her. “They’re testing us,” he said. “Their kingdom never crosses borders… unless provoked.”
Y/n’s voice was calm, but laced with iron. “Azurethra does not act without purpose. They are bound by the pact. They wouldn’t dare interfere.”
But Yoongi turned to her, a quiet fire in his gaze. “You underestimate them, Queen Y/n. You may have returned safely, but they could still claim what they believe is theirs.”
A silence passed between them, filled with history—and secrets.
Only one person in that room knew the full truth.
General Park Jimin.
Standing tall by the marble pillar, dressed in Welkin’s crest, yet born of a kingdom shrouded in smoke and shadow.
He said nothing, but inside, a war raged.
He had watched them—Yoongi and Y/n—grow closer these past few weeks. Watched the way Yoongi’s gaze softened when he looked at her. Watched the way Y/n finally smiled like she meant it.
And every moment felt like a blade twisting deeper into his chest.
He was the hidden Prince of Azurethra, brought to Welkin as part of a blood-soaked bargain—a pact made by Y/n’s father decades ago to protect the kingdom from darkness.
Protection… in exchange for him.
He was raised in Welkin, trained to be its general, stripped of his name—but never his birthright.
And now? The woman he had sworn to serve—the woman he had loved in silence for years—was becoming another man's Queen in heart as well as title.
He couldn't let that happen.
.....................................
Jimin stood alone in the war chamber, surrounded by maps, half-burned reports, and silence.
The door creaked open behind him.
“Jimin,” Y/n’s voice called gently.
He turned. She was smiling, her hands hidden in the folds of her gown. That smile—once carefree—now looked burdened by truths she refused to speak aloud.
