Bam. The impact against your cheek caused white spots to block your vision. Your face felt like you were sitting much too close to a fire. The force caused you to land on the grass behind you. You looked up to him from where you lay still trying to take in what was happening. You instantly saw the mass of curls, the tall stature, saw the angry look lying upon his face. 'didn't your mother ever teach you not to hit a lady?!' you barked at him. You heard him chuckle a bit and then his deep voice replied saying 'honey, you're not a lady by any means. You're a no good tramp and you'll never worth anything.'
With that you woke up from your vivid nightmare, anxiety overcame you and you perspired a bit. Niall who was in a bed just next to the one you were lying in noticed this and quickly asked 'hun, are you alright? what's the matter?' in a concerned tone. 'just a nightmare.sorry to wake you up.' you replied. He rolled over and feel back asleep, or at least you assumed so as his snoring had began again.
If only it was just a nightmare, you thought. The reason it was such a vivid nightmare was because it was a harsh reality you'd been through. It was the first and only time a male had ever hit you. Harry had quite the temper to him,but this was the only time he ever took to physical anger with you. You'd figured out early on that Harry boxed to take away some of the pent up anger and aggression he had. In no way was that an excuse, however, for what he'd done in that instance.
You pushed the wrong button, and that's what set him off. You knew that you'd done it, but had no clue it would become one of your strongest memories you had from you and Harry's relationship, sadly. You were talking awful about Caroline all day long and Harry couldn't stand it any longer and quickly found a way to shut you up, and it did. Harry soon apologized for it, not that same day, but in the following week and tried to make it up to you by buying fancy gifts and trinkets to bring things back to a sense of normalcy between the two of you, but it didn't work on you. You knew better than to allow him to buy back your love after what he'd done. You were raised to be respected by a man, and if he didn't do that then you were supposed leave him in the dust. You did, however, give Harry the benefit of the doubt, knowing you'd done wrong, and stuck it out with him for still yet a few more months after the instance.
*The next morning*
You woke up the next morning to the smell of pancakes. You walked into the living room and saw a lovely breakfast set on the table in front of Niall and his stepdad. You saw Maura at the griddle finishing up the last bit of pancakes. 'morning' you said as you went over and gave Maura a bit of a side hug and then walked over to the table and sat to the left of Niall and folded your legs crisscross in your chair. Maura came over and sat the last stack of pancakes on the table. 'it looks great mum' Niall told her. You nodded in agreement. 'well dig in!' Maura told you.
'anything big planned today for you two?' Niall's stepdad asked. 'just a bit of showing y/n around a bit. not much else though. might go to Bobby's for a bit watch some football.' Niall answered whilst putting a full bite of pancakes into his mouth. 'well that'd be good.' Maura piped in. 'watching football with Niall and Bobby. Good?' you said. 'I don't think those two phrases belong in the same sentence.' everyone at the table chuckled a bit. ' I suppose you're right. With those two you'd think they were coaches and not just spectators.' Maura exclaimed. 'exactly!' you said back to her, glad she understood. 'well how would like a bit of girl time later, just you and me. bit of shopping and a manicure and pedicure.' she said excitedly. ' I'd love that!' you said. 'that would be amazing. maybe after the football game with double Horan trouble?' you say as you turn to Niall to find him nodding in agreement. 'excellent. girls night out' Maura said, before the both of you let out a few laughs.
*later on*
'Ireland is so beautiful!' you exclaimed as you and Niall found a bench to sit on. 'yeah, it most definitely is.' he replied. 'nothing like Oklahoma.' you chuckled. 'I still can't believe you nearly ran over that little lady over' you said. 'I didn't nearly run her over, I just didn't realized she'd stopped walking right in front of me and nearly toppled over her.' he exclaimed.'sure' you said, before nudging him gently in the ribs and laughing a bit. You still couldn't believe how lucky you'd gotten to have Niall as your fiance, even though he frequently corrected you saying he was the extraordinarily lucky one. 'well we better get headed to Bobby's to watch football.' Niall stated. You let out a sigh, which captured Niall's attention and a laugh from him.
