*A Year Later*

‘So what’s it like being a wife to an international superstar?’ Barbara Walters asked you.

*A Few Hours Earlier*

‘I, I can’t do this’ you said anxiously to Niall as you sat preparing for your first interview. You’d done a couple phone and Skype interviews, but Niall was alongside you in all those. For this one, he wouldn’t be. Barbara had specifically asked just for you to interview for a special she was planning on doing about the boys.

‘What if I mess up and say something stupid?  What if I say nothing at all? Ni, what if I spill our secret?’ You spat these words out in a rambling manner. ‘hun, you’re worrying and over-thinking this way too much.’ He said as he took you in his arms. ‘Plus Barbara is really sweet and nice’ he added. ‘I sure hope you’re not lying to me.’ You said with less anxiety to your tone as you look up at your husband.

You noticed how little his appearance had changed in the six years you’d spent together. His eyes still gleamed a beautiful shade of blue (much like yours). He stood close to six foot now, towering over your 5’3” self, but you didn’t mind. His natural brunette hair was more prominent than his blonde at the moment, seeing as he hadn’t bothered to have it re-dyed since they were currently on break from touring. He’d gained a bit of muscle over the past couple years and it was felt when he hugged you too tightly and you had to remind him to ease up a bit.

Niall had grown so much as a person in those six years and so had you. At the beginning of your relationship, you both childishly handled arguments, screaming, and yelling back and forth until one of you ended up leaving. Now you’d both learned to more rationally deal with conflict, thank goodness.

He treated you like a princess and he was your prince. Sure there were times when you both needed space, but for the most part you enjoyed spending every minute possible together. Niall was always more outgoing, while you were a bit shy and quiet, so it balanced out. You’d learned how to handle fan ambushes and now found fan encounters enjoyable, instead of terrifying as they had been at one point. These past six years made you so happy and you had Niall to thank for that.

*back in the present, at the interview*

‘It’s great, Barbara’ you responded. ‘I hear Niall’s bandmate and your best friend, Harry, set you two up. Is that correct?’ she asked you. ‘Somewhat’ you answered, laughing a bit before continuing. ‘I was secretly dating Harry at the time when I met Niall, but he had no clue. So he started flirting with me and me and Harry decided mutually to end our relationship a couple weeks later. A few weeks after that, me and Niall were officially dating.’ You said, flashing a smile.

‘If you don’t mind my asking, why did you and Harry keep your relationship secret?’ Barbara questioned. ‘It was per my request. I wasn’t ready for all the hate and attention dating Haz would ensue, but I didn’t want to miss out on dating a great guy.’you answered. ‘And Harry was fine with that?’ she asked. ‘Yeah, he was.’ You replied. ‘Back to subject. You and Niall.’ Barbara said seriously. ‘Yes’ you said.

‘How did he propose to you?’ she questioned. ‘he took me the day he got his braces off to go get our goldendoodle,Cason, from the breeder and he’d attached the ring to the pups collar so when I picked him up, I saw the ring and Niall had a sweet speech he gave and then asked me to marry him.’ You explained.

‘Is he a romantic?’ she asked. ‘Oh absolutely. He’s a hopeless romantic.’ You giggled. ‘But that plays to your advantage?’ she retorted. ‘I suppose.’ You said quickly. ‘Well it’s been lovely having you on the show, y/n!’ she said enthusiastically. ‘Thanks for having me.’ You responded in a chipper tone.
