Chapter One

~ Chapter One ~

"I'll miss you. So very much." My mother said as she hugged me for the last time, before i went off into the airport.

"I love you mom. I'll call you once i get there." I assured as i let go of the hug.

She flooded in tears as my father embraced her.

"Be careful honey. We love you too"

I gave a sentimental smile at the both of my parents that was breaking down outside of the airport.

I turned around with my luggages behind me. One single cinematic tear fell from my eye and i quickly wiped it away.

I walked into the security check and stood in the line which felt like an eternity.

*bing* *bing*

I looked down and took my phone out of my back pocket. Seeing a message from my brother.

'I'm sorry i couldn't make it! I love you and have a safe flight.'

'It's fine. I'll call you once i land <3'

Once the text sent i moved up towards the line.

Finally getting into my not-so-comfortable seat. I took my earphones and plugged them into my electronic device and zoned out of the world.

I was quietly dancing slightly from the beat of the song but was quickly interrupted from a flight attendant tapping me on the shoulder, making me take an ear bud out and give her a questionable look.

"Electronic devices should be stowed away and on airplane mode." She reminded me as she walked down the aisles.

I sighed deeply and turned my phone off.

I quickly wrapped up my earphones and stowed them away before she came back.

*5 hours later*

I quickly awoken from my slumber when the airplane shook as we landed. Almost giving me a heart attack! I breathed deeply and relaxed in my seat.

After the rocky landing i unlocked my seat belt and stood up waiting for the person beside me to walk out of my way. I quickly took my carry on from over head and walked out the plane.

Feeling the thick florida air hug my body as i walked off. I smiled to myself as i looked around the beautiful scenery from the window.

I looked at the time seeing that it was nearly 3 pm. I quickly headed to the baggage claim to get both of my huge luggages.

After finally getting my 2 heavy luggages, i was waiting at the outside of the airport; the pick up area. Seeing people run to their family members and giving them a hug. Making me smile.

My cousin; Serena called.

"Heyy Aaliyah! We are just entering the pick up area! What flight are you?" She asked.

"Alaska."

She ended the call abruptly, then seeing a silver Lexus appear in front of me.

Serena got out and screeched once she saw me and ran towards me. She took me into a bone crushing hug as i tried breathing for air.

Serena was always my favorite cousin. But ever since she moved to Florida, we've lost a lot of our friendship but was still in contact. So i decided that i'd live with her and her husband until i save up for my own apartment.

Her husband; Gerald.

Got out of the car and gave me a wide smile and a side hug.

He quickly loaded the trunk with my luggage which practically weighed a ton. Once we were all set we got in the car and started driving back to their house.
