Edwin, Corey and I walked over to the ice cream place, that wasn't that far from the pharmacy.

"Veda, I want an ice cream cone, with chocolate ice cream, sprinkles, cookies, gummy bears, candy-"

"Whoa there Edwin, you already have candy. Let's just get you plain chocolate so Mom don't have to deal with a hyperactive raccoon later on." I told him, which caused Corey to laugh, but Edwin crossed his arms and pouted.

We went up to the counter and I told her "Can I have two chocolate ice cream cones, please?" Then, looked to Corey "Do you want anything?"

He replied with "Yeah, but don't worry I'll buy my own." I nodded and told the lady that that was all we needed. She told me my total and I handed her my money, and she gave me the change back.

While Corey ordered, Edwin and I went to go find a place to sit at, Edwin suggested a booth by the window, and I agreed. Corey came to sit next to me in the booth, when the lady up at the cash register, called our orders out, so we got up to go get the ice cream.

I handed Edwin his ice cream, once we walked back to our booth. He grabbed some candy out of his bag that he brought from the pharmacy, and smashed some in the table, sprinkling some on his ice cream.

"Edwin, you better clean that up before we leave." I scolded his crumb mess on the table.

"Okay, Mom." He said.

A few silent moments passed before Edwin asked "When am I going to see Matt again?" Edwin asked, out of no where.

"Oh, um, you won't be seeing him for a while." I nervously said. Matt was my ex boyfriend, him and Edwin got along perfectly. He doesn't understand what boyfriends and girlfriends are, even if he is nine. All he knew is that Matt and I were close.

"Who's Matt?" Corey asked.

I quickly said "I'll tell you later." He nodded.

"So, Edwin, you have a game tomorrow?" Corey questioned and Edwin responded with a yes.

"You can come with us, if you want!" My brother exclaimed.

"Can I?" Corey looked to me and asked.

"I don't mind, I'm sure that my Mom can take you with us." I told him.

"Okay, sounds good." He smiled.

"So, um, you gonna tell me who Matt is?" Corey asked, as we were walking back to our apartments. Edwin was a few feet ahead of us, singing a song that he liked.

"He's my ex boyfriend." I nodded to him.

"Ex? So, you're telling me that you're single." He raised his eyebrows.

I said, "I thought you knew that already." While laughing.

"No, but it's helpful." He said.

"Helpful? For what?"

"I'll let you know soon." He told me, while looking into my eyes.
