Kiara was bouncing in excitement. A thunderstorm was coming to Forks which ment that it was time for the Cullen's baseball. Every time there was a thunderstorm the Cullen's were playing baseball, because when they hit the ball it would sound like a thunder.

Right now Edward and Kiara were driving towards the Swan residents to get Bella. And Kiara was very much excited about this. But also it was the first time that Edward was going to meet with Chief Swan, Bella's father and that was something that Kiara couldn't miss out.

Kiara stood near her uncle as he pushed the doorbell and shoved his hands into his pockets, waiting anxiously, while she was smirking smugly at her uncle's uncomfortable expression, the door opened and Bella invited them inside, shooting Edward a furtive look.

"She says play nice." Kiara whispered just to annoy Edward with the fact that she could read her mind and he couldn't.

They followed Bella into the dining room where Sheriff Swan - Charlie - was cleaning his rifle.

Kiara smiled and greeted Charlie warmly, "Good morning, Sheriff. How are you?"

"I'm just fine, Kara, thanks." the corners of his mouth twitched up but he eyed Edward behind her "And you can call me Charlie."

Edward stepped up and took off one of his gloves - they served to warm up his hands so he wouldn't be so cold to the touch for this very moment. He eyed the gun sitting atop the table as Charlie begrudgingly shook his hand.

'I guess it's a good thing I'm bullet proof.' he thought.

"Chief Swan. I wanted to formally introduce myself. I'm Edward." Charlie grunted. "I won't keep Bella out late tonight." Edward glanced back at Kiara and Bella, "We're just going to go play baseball with our family."

Charlie raised an eyebrow at this and chuckled, "Bella's going to play baseball?"

Kiara muffled her laugh with a fake cough and Bella quirked an eyebrow. Edward licked his lips "Yes, sir, that's the plan."

Charlie looked between the three of them for and moment and shrugged, "Well. More power to you, I guess."

Edwards looked Charlie right in the eyes with intense seriousness "She'll be safe with us, sir, I promise."

Charlie stared back at him for a moment. There was a pregnant pause before he nodded and Edward bid him a polite farewell to start the car and get the hell out of there as fast as he could.

Kiara lingered behind as Charlie put down his gun and turned to his daughter "You got that pepper spray?"

She rolled her eyes, "Dad."

He shot her a serious look and then turned to the dark haired Cullen "What about you, Kara?"

Kiara chuckled. She hardly thought she needed pepper spray to ward people off, "No thanks, Sheriff. I can handle my own."
