A Little Too Much - Shawn Mendes

Shawn

I can't deny, I felt bad for being a little too honest with Naomi. She was just a little naïve to think I could possibly fall for her. If I could, I would fall for her, but, I can't. She's not my type.

I got to the hotel and immediately went to my bedroom. To be honest, I felt so tired. I just needed some sleep. Or maybe I needed to talk with Erika. Either or sounds nice right now. There was a knock on the door to my bedroom.

"Who is it?"

"Me, Mr. Mendes. I'm only asking if you would like lunch? Complementary gift from the hotel." Creighton asked, which made my stomach rumble.

"That actually sounds divine. I'll be right over in a minute." I took of my flannel and search my suitcase for a sweatshirt. I immediately grabbed my Portugal one and slipped into it. I feel so much more comfortable in a sweatshirt anyway.

When I left my bedroom, I saw Creighton was gone and I was by myself. I hated being alone. It makes me want to miss my family dearly. Especially my little sister, Aaliyah. I wish I was at home, where my mom would be cooking me breakfast, I could sleep in as late as I pleased, and she wouldn't bitch about it. My dad would be downstairs, drinking his morning coffee and reading the sports section in the newspaper. Aaliyah would be thrown like a doll on the sofa, watching tv, waiting for me to come down. I would come down, look out the window and seeing snow falling. Maybe dad would take us to go ice skating for a little and when we come home, mom will be making us hot chocolate.

"Agh!" I crashed my fists onto the table in frustration, causing me to grimace and bite my lip. Tears fell out of my eyes. I didn't even bother eating. My appetite vanished.

When we finished picking up the mail, we left. Probably because I wanted to go home already. I was just aching for this day to end. When I got into the car, I looked at my phone.

I'm going to text Shawn.

Hey Shawn, have you gotten to Columbus yet? How was your flight?

I wrote in real words. Damn. I usually use texting lingo for texting. Well, whatever. Hopefully I texted Shawn at a good time. I'm awfully worried about him. I don't know why. Shawn is just about to turn 17, he's a big boy. I just feel like he needs someone right now. Someone to comfort him.

When the message was sent, I put my phone back into my purse. Cynthia looked at me.

"Who were you texting? It looks like you're worried about someone." Cynthia asked as she stopped at a red light.

"Sarah." I lied tactlessly. Sarah is my best friend. You'll learn more about her later.

"Why are you worried about Sarah?"

"I haven't heard from her in days."

"Really?" The red light turned green, and she started driving again.

"Yeah. I miss her." I looked to my feet.

"Whatever. We are gonna be home in a few."

When I needed someone the most, someone texted me. Who is it?
