Chapter 4

J U L I A' S POV

We ran downstairs as soon as we heard a loud crash coming from the kitchen.

The three of us zoomed past the dining area. We were filled with so much adrenaline that I didn't even notice the dining table in the way. "Ow! My feet hurts!" I screamed when my pinky toe got stubbed on the leg of the table. Ugh this is not the right time to have my stupid toe hurt. I jumped up and down as I held onto my aching pinky. Jess and Kath didn't seem to notice.

There was nothing peculiar about the kitchen when we looked around. But where are the boys?

"San nanggaling yung bagsak? Asan na sila?" Kath asked us as she looked around.

I shrugged my shoulders and looked at Jess who started to speak, "Paano natin sila hahanapin?"

All of a sudden,

All the lights went off.

"Ahh!!" A scream escaped my mouth.

A tiny glare of light started to come from the cooking space. And when we turned our heads, we saw the refrigerator door slowly opening, creating a faint creaking sound. The three of us shared a glance at this dim-lighted kitchen, wondering if we were to come near the only source of light. We eventually interlocked our arms, and together, we went closer to examine what's in it.

Kath got the courage to open the fridge door. We immediately noticed something yellow stuck to the wall of the refrigerator.

It's a note.

K A T H R Y N' S POV

Kinuha ko yung note na nakadikit sa gilid nung ref:

"Everyone is hidden,

But be careful who you'll choose.

Everyone is frozen,

Take note of the clues."

"What?!" sigaw agad ni Juls, "What does that mean?!"

"A-ano to??" takot kong tanong sakanila habang itinataas yung hawak kong papel.

"Everyone is hidden?" tumigil si Jess, "Ito na ba yung sinabi nung pekeng Dj na maghide and seek tayo?"

"What??"

"--Kailangan natin silang hanapin" tinuloy niya.

"But how?" tanong ni Juls.

Take note of the clues. Napatingin ako uli sa papel na hawak ko. Napaisip ako. Baka may nakalagay dito na clue para malaman namin kung saan namin sila hahanapin. Tinignan ko ito sa ilaw nung ref at pinitik pitik, umaasang may mangyari kapag ginawa ko yon.

Inikot ko bigla yung papel,

"Guys!"

Nabigla ako sa mga nakasulat. Para bang sulat ng isang grade school na estudyante yung handwriting. Pinakita ko sakanila yung likod nung papel,

At sa baba nung papel, binasa ko ng malakas yung nakasulat.

"Isang beses lang pwede manghula. Isang beses lang pwede pumili. Hawakan ang kamay ng tunay. Isa lang ang mananatili"
