The golden age of Hollywood. Everybody remembers Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and all the other glitz and glamorous stars. But have you ever wondered if there was a forgotten star, lost in the depths of history?

Well, your mind must have leaped to the tragically beautiful ballerina. Who was never spoken, filmed or remembered.

Ever.

Again.

                                                              ***********************************

The Roux Family were known all over Hollywood as the dancing family. They were all dancers, from tap to ballet. Their lives seemed near perfect except for a bit of racism here and there. There was a father called Horatio, a mother named Amelia and a daughter named after the famous ballet: Giselle.

On Giselle's fourteen's birthday, the family went out to a famous jazz club. The glamour of the golden stage and bright lights excited everyone.

But that ended quickly.

After the club had closed the Roux family sauntered around, admiring it all. Until a cloaked man appeared, he grabbed Giselle by holding her by the neck, he scarred her with his claw-like fingers.

Horatio fought and bled, but he hadn't noticed that somebody else had taken Amelia!

The man took Amelia to dank and dirty alleyway.

"Promise that you black people will leave America!"

"You scoundrel... Never!"

"Say it!"

"No!" Amelia was a stubborn woman and a racist coward with a gun didn't make a single hair on her neck even wobble.

But this man was no coward, and he had enough bullets for her life to end on the spot!  He raised his pistol just as Giselle had struggled free from the gangster holding her. Giselle ran to the alley and saw her Mother's steel grey eyes were piercing into the man with the gun's eyes.

Amelia raised her 4'' heeled foot and kicked his stomach, she missed the first bullet as the gangster sunk down to the floor, cradling his stomach.

"Listen to me Giselle, I love you and I know that you'll make a woman out of yourself. Remember the songs we sang and the dances we've danced and treasure that. This night will be my last and don't let me have my last few minutes watching you cry, got it? Remember this, the key to life's greatest moments is to face fear. Remember that, okay?" Her mother gave her a warm hug and puckered her scarlet lips and kissed her forehead.

Giselle's heart was thumping inside her ears as she hugged her mother "Mom, I love you, but you can't die, I won't allow it... I- I won't..." Giselle's tears streamed as she kept on hugging her mother.

Suddenly, a gunshot was heard.

BANG!

Giselle felt her mother's arms go limp, she felt Amelia's legs stop standing strong, the luxury fur coat she was wearing suddenly felt very cold.

"I love you... Remember this too, feet pointed, body up and pirouette..." Amelia's last words counted as her eyes went glassy and her hands on Giselle's face dropped.

"No.

No...

NO!" She screamed up at the midnight sky, as raindrops fell from the misty clouds. She was only fourteen and she couldn't take such a big blow.

She saw her father bound up to her, bloody and bruised.

"Oh my god." His jaw dropped.

"Finally, ugh. I thought I would have to do it myself. Jeez, marrying for money is so much harder than they say it is!" Horatio laughed.
