Sweet Nightmares (*Monster High fanfic*)

Lagoona's Tale

Seventeen years ago, in the beautiful clear sapphire ocean in the gorgeous country of Australia, Prince Pacific (a handsome sea monster) fell in love with a mermaid named Coral. The feeling was mutual. 

They met night after night and danced in Pacific's underwater kingdom. Coral and Pacific were the power couple, they were adored by every sea creature. 

Except one. 

Pacific's older brother Atlantic harnessed a deep fury for Pacific, he was deeply in love with Coral, but Coral found Atlantic creepy as every time they met, his eyes would glue to her, she was uncomfortable under his sinister yet love-struck gaze. 

One beautiful morning, the King and Queen of Oceania (the kingdom of mermaids, sea monsters and sirens) had announced that the new heir of the throne. 

Enraged by this, Atlantic stormed over to his parents. "Do you not realize that I should become King?! I am older than Pacific by three years. The oldest always becomes the new heir!" 

"You haven't read the Book of Oceania Laws, my son. It states the heir suitable for the throne will be the new monarch. That's why your mother's father wasn't Royal by birth. He was chosen as the Queen's son {at the time} was too greedy to become King so your he was chosen. You should-" 

"I didn't ask for a history lesson, old man!" He spat "I demand to become King!" 

"Atlantic, why are you being so savage?" The Queen swam over, her aqua mermaid tail slightly greying.

"Shut up you old crone! If you don't elect me as the new monarch I promise that I will do things that most would regret. And I give my word to you dying old fools, that this family will be scarred!" Atlantic snarled

"You audacious boy! You are-"

It was too late for a scold, Atlantic swam away, the gills in his neck flaring angrily. 

The King & Queen looked at each other mournfully. 

Pacific had arrived, hand in hand with Coral "Hey mum, hey dad!" He grinned cheerfully in his Aussie accent. 

"Hello my dear son." 

"What's the matter, you only say 'dear son' when Atlantic has a tantrum."

"Indeed, he did."

"He didn't mean it, he has a gold heart, deep, deep, deep-"

Coral continued "Deep, deep, deep."

"Down." They finished in unison. "That's my boy, always seeing the good in people..." 

"We've got good news." 

"What is it? You went out on land and gave a few mortals a fright?" The King chuckled.

"No... I'm pregnant!" 

"Oh.My. Shell." The King fainted into The Queen's strong yet soft blue arms. 

"This is wonderful news, oh I can't wait to see the little darling child!Pacific, sweetheart, take your father to our room in the palace while I speak to Coral. He's so softhearted that the joy of a child excites him! No wonder you were getting so big dear, you look almost seven months!"

Somehow, The Queen had The King in bridal style - just like Pacific and Atlantic - he had a strong athletic build compared to The Queen's tall, elegant posture. 

"Sometimes, I forget that you're stronger than Atlantic, father and I combined!" He chuckled before conjuring a bed made of bubbles and pushed him to the palace.

"May I?" The Queen asked to touch Coral's stomach. "Sure..." 

"It's a girl." 

"How do you know?"
