Becoming someone new can be scary... But what if that saying was to become true?
A identity that wasn't yours that will be yours. This is what will go down in a new unforeseen life path for our dear Archer or should he be called instead... LARS!
After a week of rest, Steven was finally back on his feet. His body still ached from the strain, but Pearl had made sure he took things slow with no missions as of the moment. The Gems were more than happy to smother him with love and care, practically turning recovery into a cuddle marathon.
Lars, meanwhile, kept to himself, heading to work with Sadie as usual. But something about her had changed. She seemed... Off. More dazed and forgetful, sometimes mixing up real memories with things that had never happened. And there was something else, more noticeable factor... She was slightly taller now. Not by much, but noticeably slimmer too, her weight dropping at an unnerving pace.
Lars didn't press her about it. It was easier to assume she'd just been working harder lately, maybe not eating enough, and that the changes were wearing her out.
As for the other two Gems staying at Lars' place after some yard repairs, they were more than content to lounge around watching shows Peridot adored as Lapis seemed to enjoy them almost as much.

Lars: Camp pining hearts.... O...Vea?
Peridot: O-V-A! It is a special ON-SALE episode that I successfully found using the meta pad.
Lar: Yes, with my card.
Lapis: Ah sorry for not stopping her.
The blue gem rubbed her head with a smile though clearly not regretting it which was evident in her tone. She too was excited to see this episode which was no longer free to watch since the site they have been using on the meta pad has been so called 'DeLeTeD CaUsE Of CoPy-RiGhT'.
For the night long straight the two gems continued to watch the OVA over and over, using a clip-board with some art on it and red, blue and green lines to indicate who 'Liked', 'Loved' and 'Dislike' each other on the show and trying to predict the new season that is gonna be releasing for the third season.
Lars fell asleep on the couch, resting up since he is still a human who needed sleep.
??????? stood at the edge of the cliff, green, levitating fingers hovering before them. Projected between the fingers was a detailed blueprint of an enormous hand, its interior layout spread open. Several sectors were marked with glowing !!!!, the most prominent surrounding an area labeled Core Room.
???????: Took long enough to fix this faulty tech... But at last, we'll see where this little board game takes us.
Their gaze lifted to a single, brilliant star in the night sky. The green fingers drifted upward, framing the star, then closed around it in the shape of a box. ??????? stared at it, unblinking, eyes glinting at it intensely.
Sadie woke up groggy as normal recently as she stood up with her saggy over sized pajamas, she managed to walk herself to the stand along mirror where she looked thirdly at herself with a yawn and bags under her eyes.

She stretched and rubbed the underneath of her eyes as she barely recognize the person in the mirror but due to her lack of sleep, she couldn't even bother in giving a reaction.
A knock sounded at her door, and before she could answer, Barbara let herself in. Sadie's mother always said she believed in 'respecting privacy... But only when it's convenient.'
Barbara: Oh, my little girl!
Barbara beamed, stepping of her daughter's neatly cleaned room without hesitation.
Barbara: Every time I see you, you're more grown-up... You've gotten so thin lately. I should cook more for you or even something hearty, something to fill you out. You'll waste away like this. What would you do if dear Lars see you in this state more and more, he would die of worry you know, he has such a kind so-
She continued to talk, much to Sadie pain as she was too tired for another lecture, simply pressed her palms over her ears, blocking out her mother's voice. She swayed slightly, still not fully awake, wishing she could just sink back into bed and disappear under the blankets.
I came to realize how great and more lively an art looks when it has better shading so this is the PROTOTYPE art that I never planned on changing since it looked good.

Of course I changed it with removing the TV light cause it was blocking out the color and real shading so by using a IBISPAINT Brush I found on the website page for free for blending color, I practiced over and over for days on end to learn on how can I add some depth and light to it without it looking messy and a bunch of sketches of mess.
The Emiya/Peridot/Lapis art was the one that took me a long time unlike the thinner Sadie art which I didn't bother to complete with proper blending shadow/light since I finished the basic design for the room and added basic depth to Sadie looks to truly show how sudden weight lost can affect a person as personal experience.
I hope you all enjoy my two OC art of this fanfic and fear not, I am not quitting any stories, just taking a long break and do what I can to write while balancing some other heavy responsibilities I have since my love for art will never fade away.
