Open Up With Vodka

I couldn't sleep longer than Ridley did. I didn't want to take a chance and ruin my mission. Xavier would have my head. I woke up and wasted no time in pulling off in the direction we were headed.

After about an hour of my driving, hoping that Ridley had taken a little while longer to wake up.  She'd groaned and stirred until eventually her body shifted from facing the window to looking straight at me.

Her eyes, big brown orbs growing big with terror. "Good morning." Was the only thing that could come out of my mouth. She, probably the only thing girls do when they wake up from one of their drunk escapades,  screamed, fresh air entering her lungs.

I laughed. "Hey there's no reason to scream now Mariposa." I said putting my finger on her lips. "Don't touch me. Who are you? What the fuck did you call me?" She asked me as she shifted further against the door. Again, I had no choice but to laugh as her hand clutched against the handle. "Tsk tsk tsk, now now Mariposa why don't you be a good girl eh?" I asked as we neared an intersection.

Pulling over, I got out of the car and changed my shirt. I still kept my eyes on her as I did so. As soon as our eyes connected, she turned her face as if her cheeks wouldn't display the blush she had on her face. I scoffed, she looked at me through the reerveiw mirror. Walking back to the car I winked.

The car was silent except for Ridley continuously trying to open the door. I finally got fed up. "Oh, for goodness funking sake, if you could stop doing that, I wouldn't find pleasure in blowing your brains out." Big mistake. Big big mistake. "Oh, great. Now you're crying." I mumbled to myself. It seems as if she heard me though. "Excuse me, you just threatened me with my life. I should cry. I don't even know who you are!"

I can't let her know what's going on. "Your father had sent me." That should work, except it didn't. "Oh for fuck sake!" I yell causing her to jump. "Please please please please please don't take me to him. Anywhere but close to him." She cried.  "I uh... Okay, how about you tell me why?" "I'm not going to pour out my problems to you. I don't even know your name."

I was astonished. "You say that you don't know my name eh Mariposa?" I said pulling into a diner not too far from the penthouse apartment. "What is that mari-what-wh at you keep calling me? If... He sent you. Then you have to know my name." She said getting out of the car to follow me only to moan. "Fucking hangover." "I've got something for it. You've got to eat first."

After a dead silent lunch, and stealing a glass.   I led an ill Ridley to the passenger seat and took the vodka out of the trunk along with some aspirin.  I think I prefered the loud mouth, intoxicated version of who she is. Giving it to her after getting into the car and waiting for her to drink it. "You fucking asshole, that was vodka! Neat! Not nice, but I like it."

I was about to pull off when she stopped me. "Oh no you don't." "Eh? We have to get going Mariposa." I say uncomfortably. She pouted just the way Jennica did when she tries getting her way. "Get the vodka." Face palming myself I did as told and got back in the car driving off.

Twenty minutes later, the vodka bottle was half way. Ridley had her braid loose, the music blaring. She was also distracting me with her dancing. So... rhythmic, so skillful, erotic and sexy. I could feel the heat travelling through my body. I was speeding like crazy. She's not supposed to affect me this way. Once the song had stopped I turned the radio off as quick as possible.

She didn't care about that. She burst out laughing. "Hey, you want to know what?" She said rubbing my cheek. "Hmmm" was all I could release while her hand traveled slowly to my chest.  "I." Even lower. "Don't." Even lower and even slower.  "Care." My abdomen now. "About." She said feeling for the button of my jeans. "My father." I sucked a deep breath as she shoved her hand down my pants. "Oh, why. Is that. Ridley?" I said between breaths as I struggled from her grip.

Her hand immediately loosened. "You didn't call me Mari-" "Why don't you care about your father, Mariposa?" I repeated in her favour. Her smile effortlessly widened, her teeth perfect with luscious lips encased around them. Her smile dissipated as quickly as it showed. Replaced by so much fear, sadness and terror in her big, brown orbs.  "He... He's not stable." "Continue Mariposa." I look in her direction every few minutes to indicate that I'm actually listening. "He doesn't. I don't think he loves me."

I raise an eyebrow at that statement. "Care to explain why?" She then took a swig at the vodka, coughed and took another. "Well, they do say opening up to strangers is a good thing right?" Not in the case where your life depends on it. I thought and still nodded in agreement.

"My mother was murdered. Ten months ago.  Dad uhm, he was on trial just after because I actually caught him in the act of." She didn't need to finish her sentence. "My father said he did it so that he could get the money from her will. My parents weren't exactly on good terms because of this money issue."

Her tears were flowing freely now, I didn't know what to say nor how to comfort her so I continued to drive in silence. "Turns out,mom didn't have a will, except for the fact that all her money was to be transferred to my bank account, all her belongings sold to charity. Her lawyer claimed that she had the will undone because she was about to divorce him."

As soon as she completed that sentence, she took the final swig of vodka, hit her head against the window and she'd fallen asleep. I took this opportunity to call Creeden.

"Hi?" "Boy, I don't know about kidnapping this girl. It was probably a mad,bad idea. He's not a fuck worried about her whereabouts." Creeden breathed deep. "Where are you now?" He questioned quietly. I just crossed into Baridio." "How do you know about this?" He asked me in the same whisper tone. "She opened up with vodka." He laughed humorously.

"Come on Creeden, do you think she needs to be tortured when her father just doesn't care?" Silence lapsed between us. "Okay fine.  Boss won't like this, but I'll help you out." I knew he'd do it, but I was first expecting a fight about it. "Thanks Bro, what's on the planning?" I asked. "Go to the apartment. There's an unused phone there. Get rid of this one immediately. Give nobody that number. I'll email you though. I don't think that phone is tapped."

Creeden ended the call shortly after and I made it peacefully to the apartment fifteen minutes after our call. "Mariposa, come on." I shook her only causing her to stir and face my direction. "He's gorgeous. You should see him." She mumbled almost incoherently.  " Mariposa, wake up eh. We're here." I shook her again. I grew impatient and decided to get my luggage out of the car and go find a place to sleep. When she wakes up,she'll come inside on her own.
