"We'd worked like dogs this passed month to get here." Creeden said as he slung his arm over my shoulder. Our club,  Extacy was opening in four hours from now. Creeden and I have decided that tonight's opening would document our venture as partners. "Well, I hope you're ready partner, it's going to explode." I responded.

We'd made sure that everything was running smoothly. The alcohol supply for the night had been delivered and we'd helped stack a few shelves. The waiters and waitresses were setting up the tables and the DJ decided to set up early enough so that he could do whatever he wanted to before seven.

Creeden and I agreed after two hours of running up and down between the action at the club and the offices to handle administrative and financial business we could go home.

The condo was too quiet and it scared me. Who knew who was in the house with the women. I felt irritation creep up with the realisation that my glock was in the safe in the house too. Creeden walked in slowly before me. "Carmina? Ridley?" He called out and walked closer into the condo.

I scanned the kitchen and lounge along with Creeden.

When we'd found nothing in those rooms, Creeden proceeded to his room while I walked into my own. Ridley was asleep. I sighed heavily and walked into the room, lied down next to her and held her tight.

That woke her up.  "I'm sorry baby." I whispered as she turned to look at me, her hand rubbed onto my beard. "I missed you so much today." "I missed you too."

Creeden suddenly barged into the room, his face drowning in panic.  "Carmina is not in the room." He spoke through gritted teeth. "Did you check the bathrooms?" I asked sitting up. "I knocked on the doors, there's no response from her."

I shook my head. Sometimes Creeden could be a little too subtle in such situations. "Do you know that she might be missing if you don't check properly?" I asked as I moved out of the room. "Maybe she'd gone out." "Ridley, stay here."  She continued walking beside Creeden. "Ridley Britten, why in the name of heaven are you not listening to me?" I snapped angrily. "Just stay the fuck in this room."

There was no actual reason for her to stay in the room, I was just trying to protect her from my own fears. I'd gone into Creeden's bedroom. I tried opening the door. As expected, it was locked. "Carmina, if you're in there, take a huge step back okay?"

Before I'd kicked the door down Creeden's voice spoke. "Where in heaven's name were you?" "I just went to the mall and bought some outfits for Ridley and myself for tonight's opening."

I was ready to take a shower, I walked into the room loosening my tie and shirt when a pillow was thrown at me. "You don't have the right!" Ridley shouted angrily. "The right to what exactly?" I asked dismissively. "You treat me like I'm a toddler. Who can't look after themselves. Why?" "Ridley, I need to get ready okay. This is a stupid fucking argument that I don't have the time for."

"No!" She yelled, stepping in front of the bathroom door.  "Tell me, why do you think I'm such a fucking fragile piece of glass?" "Ridley for God's sake. You're acting like a little girl. I need to get ready for work. Could you please, get the fuck out of my sight?"

Her tears had started to pool as she moved out of the way. My anger didn't dissipate, it stayed as is while I showered, getting out of the shower I heard Ridley and Carmina laughing like hyena's.  I got dressed in a an ashy grey suit and a silvery tie adorned the collar.

I walked into the lounge where Creeden, Carmina and Ridley waited. Ridley walked up to me, wearing a grey banquet dress that accentuated her protruding belly. My anger bottled my voice and I'd said nothing more than "You look nice." I beat her extending hands to straighten my tie.
