All Falls Down

"The two of you are going to be such successful parents." Jazzree gushes and Ridley looked up at me while breastfeeding Azriaan while I rocked an already fed Arazaan into sleep. "I'm going to try my best to protect you all." I answered but spoke mostly to myself.

It's been two weeks since the twins birth and I found that it was getting pretty difficult to leave the house for work considering Xander Xavier and his crew were pretty tight up Creeden's arse. I wasn't complaining though, I had enough time to spend with my family. That didn't burn out my paranoia though.

I haven't slept a wink since their birth, unless Creeden was over. He was the only one who knew about my insomnia and would guard the house and help Ridley and Jazzreee with the twins while I'd slept, he also made me feel like they were safe enough.

"What's wrong with you lately?" Ridley said as I moved Arazaan to her side of the room and taking Azriaan into my embrace. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Our gazes locked as she padded her breast dry before putting it back into her bra. "Don't act stupid, I see how you're sneaking to sleep when Creeden and Carmina come over. Right Jazz, you see it too, don't you. Are you not sleeping Pierce?"

"Yes, I sleep when Creeden comes and it's because I'm tired Ridley, I'm human eh? I can fall asleep can't I?" I spoke in unintentional annoyance. "That's not what I mean Pier, when you're laying in bed with me before the girls wake us up,what is it that you do?"

I place Azriaan in her crib. "I sleep Ridley." I said in a whisper as I stare down at my daughter, my little girl. Arazaan was 7 minutes older than Azriaan and also half a kilo bigger than her. I seemed to have favoured her but I don't point it out, I still love them equally.

"Look at me, look at me and admit it Pier." Ridley had picked up on the nickname from Carmina. "You're not entirely responsible for taking care of the girls." She continues while I carry a baby monitor out of the room, shove it at Jazzree and turn to Ridley. "I'm entirely responsible for all four of you girls!" I yell as she flinches back.

"Don't anger me Ridley. Don't press on my sleeping patterns either." She ignores and takes a step closer. "I care about you, and I thought you said we're not going to keep secrets anymore."

I huffed in irritation as I walked into the room"It's no secret that I don't sleep Ridley, and I know that you know." She nodded slightly. "But your secret is why you're not sleeping." I laughed. "You ask too many questions Mariposa, go sit with your sister eh?" I offered, my anger was reaching its boiling point.

She took a step closer as I stepped back. "What's-" "PIERCE!" Creeden's voice boomed through the house. I pushed pass Ridley and bumped into Creeden who gripped on the hands of both Jazzree and Carmina.

My eyes grew large with worry. "What happened?" "We need to leave Baridio." He whispered, catching his breath. "I slipped my mouth, Pier." Carmina's shaky voice spoke up. "What do you mean?" I asked slowly. "They know Pierce. They know that you're alive, they know that you're seeing Ridley, they may have followed us."

I paced up and down angrily. "I think it'd be a good idea to leave Pierce alone for a while." Creeden spoke while he huddled the women in his arms. "Don't. Touch. Ridley." I seethed, lifting my head and watching him slowly let go. "Right, okay. Just calm down."

The four hurriedly made their way out of the room. Mom, dad, Aunt Florence. They're not around anymore and it's because of the same guy who's trying to trace me and my new family down. They're only going to kill off everybody I ever come across to care about.

My mind provided immediate images of Azriaan, Arazaan, Ridley, Creeden, Carmina and Jazzree too. How do I save them? It's going to be far too late if Xander and Jenniah Xavier get to them first.

I finally calmed down, mentally. Physically my breath was heavy and I was bleeding, I tried not to focus on my blood. I made my way to the twins room, I only opened the door slightly. I heard Ridley sobbing. "Mariposa." Was all I said weaker than I expected myself, she bolted to the door and I fell into her arms. "I'll protect you if it's the last thing I do."
