"And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves..."
Holy Quran (30:21).

....The formation of a family through which one can find security and peace of mind. A person who is not married resembles a bird without a nest. Marriage serves as a shelter for anyone who feels lost in the wilderness of life; one can find a partner in life who would share one's joy and sorrows...

I was reading a book when my phone started ringing.

"Yes... yes bhabhi purple is fine." Everyone in the house, were busy in shopping. I was tired so I refused to go today but what was the point, they have been calling me for 3 hours, asking about the dress color, sandals, jewellery. Tired, I got up, close the book and put it in the shelf where I had kept all my latest collection.

I prayed asar first and then thought to do some cooking. It seems like a long time since I cooked a good meal. I called Farzi. Our maid for the wedding. and told her what I was planning to cook. She started helping me with the dish.

After 1hour, my dish was completed and It was time for Maghrib prayer. I quickly offered that and checked my phone for any calls. I had 4 missed calls. 2 from bhabhi, 1 from Sarah and 1 from Jia. I thought to call Jia first. she asked about the wedding preps. Later I called Sarah, she informed me that she and Amna are coming today and they will be staying till the wedding is over. And bhabhi.. I was dialing her number but then, changed my mind.... :D

Dinner was ready and I had nothing to do. So, I brought some books in the lawn and sat on my most favorite spot and started reading. I was so engrossed in the book that I didn't hear the bell. Farzi came and opened the door.

"Didn't you hear the bell ringing??" Bhabhi asked sarcastically.

"Sorry.. " I said sheepishly and stood up to help them with the bags. We carried the bags inside and I told Farzi to fetch water for them.

"I think you have bought the whole store. Didn't I tell you not to waste too much money on them. and you know what islam teaches us. We should not do Israaf (wasteful expenditures)." I have told my mother again and again not to buy so many dresses but she is not listening to me. I am not one of those girls who buys all new dresses for their wedding and discard all the old ones. I'm not going to throw my old dresses away, I will take them with me.

"See, now my daughter will teach me about islam.." she said to khala and bhabhi and bhabhi replied eyeing me "I told you she will react like this."

I was about to protest but she raised a hand to stop me and continued.

"Before you start again, let me tell you, these all are from Uzma Khala and we all know that islam allows giving gifts and it's a very good deed indeed." This shut me up.

"Khala, you didn't have to.." I was taken aback. All were designer dresses and I knew how much it costs.

"It's nothing dear. I wanted to buy more but your sister-in-law didn't let me. I didn't understand at first but now hearing your thoughts I understood. You are not like other girls, I get it now. But now I have bought them. Will you accept them??" She tried to make a face that melts anyone.

I stood up and gave her a big hug.
"Thanks a lot. But no more dresses for me please. I don't want to be an extravagant."

"Okay ok we won't. Now will you stop this. And look at them." Bhabhi said a little impatiently. she was so excited to show me everything.
