As soon as I wake up, I get dressed and ready without any morning relaxation. On my way out the door I grab a slice of toast and gulp down a glass of orange juice before thanking the chef, Reese, and flying out the door. I knew exactly where I was going, and when I got there I saw him. With a cheeky grin splayed out on his face as he talked to a customer, I say the nametag on his shirt. 'Blake'.
Here goes nothing. After the woman and her kids get their milkshakes, I find myself before him at the countertop. "Hi, sir – what can I get you today?"
"You can get me some peace of mind." I seriously divulged. With my mother being a lawyer and a politician in her life time; I know to delve into business or you'll get nowhere.
"Excuse me?" Blake asks, furrowing his perfectly sculpted eye-brows.
"Peace of mind."
"I- Blake pauses to stifle a laugh. "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about, s-
"Leila." I deadpan, putting my face in his. "Now do you know?"
"What about Leila? She's my friend." Blake looks at me like I had an octopus growing out of my shoulder.
"And I'm not stopping that. But Leila has been through a lot for our age. More than you can ever imagine, alright? You hurt that girl and you better run, because I'll be coming for you. Understood?"
"Okay... Well, I have something for you to listen to. Leila doesn't need an overprotective ass like you in her life. Understood?" he spat back, mocking my words.
"Believe me, Blake. She does." I say, ending the conversation and turning on my heel to leave.
I can't believe she even likes this boy. It seems to me that he's just luring Leila into a trap. Without thought I can see that he's a player. Although I can't stop her from seeing him, I just need to be there for Leila when he dumps her for the next toy of his.
