Ten.
My six inch heels clattered loudly on the marble floor, and suddenly I wished that they’d be quiet, I didn’t need more attention drawn to me than what was already supplied, I mean these people were staring at me for goodness’ sake!
I pushed the door to the studio open and tried my best to run in those killer shoes. One day if I wasn’t careful I’d really slip and fall. The studio was small but cozy. As expected, the walls were stark white and not another inch of colour was spotted. The floor was a glistening beige, the whole place was very well done up.
Towards the centre of the room, lights and cameras had already been set up, and I managed to sneak a glance at the setting of today’s photoshoot before someone snapped me out of my reverie.
“Miss Park?” The voice inquired hesitantly. I whipped my head around, and collided into someone’s firm chest. “That would be me,” I confirmed, steeping back. “Sorry about that,” I gestured towards the person’s form and snapped my eyes up to meet his.
Big mistake. Immediately I found that I couldn’t look away. This guy was really gorgeous. His emerald green eyes captivated mine, and for a moment, I forgot everything that had to be done, that I was supposed to be angry with my sister, and about the upcoming trip that had me on my toes.
The man coughed slightly, before giving me a little smile. “Hey, I’m Jake, your photographer for today. The make-up stylist, Anna, is inside waiting for you.” He informed me, the smile on his face remaining intact the whole time we were speaking.
“Great,” I returned his smile with one of my own, “I can’t wait to shoot with you today, you seem like a decent person.” I winked, and he laughed.
“Yeah, you can’t deny the physical attraction, can you?” He chuckled, then smirked. “I’ve looked at the photographs that the previous photographer shot you for, the Chanel shoot? I have to say, you were quite impressive, considering the fact that you’re a greenhorn.”
I smiled appreciatively. “Thanks, I really loved that shoot. It was quite fun. My friend, Zachary Brown, shot with me. From that moment, I’ve sort of developed a crush on him.” I admitted, looking down.
I could feel the colour rising up to my cheeks even as I spoke his name. Man, I had it bad for Zac. “Zachary Brown? I would remember that name anywhere,” smile unwavering, Jake ushered me toward the small booth at the back where a slight woman was waiting.
She nodded in greeting, so as not to interrupt the conversation that was ongoing between Jake and me. I grinned back at her in reply, before looking back to Jake, urging him to continue. He gently pushed me down into the chair, so that the make up artist could get started first on my hair.
Jake grabbed a chair nearby, and sat down next to me while I was getting my foundation applied. “As I was saying, Zachary is a highly professional model. I’ve shot him on many occasions before, such a pleasant young boy, really. Good manners too, if you ask me! Not many people these days have that, you’ve got to admit.” He sighed, and ran a hand through his fingers.
I laughed. I didn’t really know much about Zachary. I didn’t even know that he’d been modeling for such a long time coming! “Well, Zachary and I would have met sooner or later, even if I hadn’t been introduced into the business. He and my sister dated briefly before.” I mentioned casually, while the make up artist (whose name was Sharon) applied the blusher to my cheeks.
Jake leaned forward in his chair. “Really? Who is she?” He asked, curious.
“Eleanor Park.” I sighed heavily, tilting my face upwards to let Sharon have a better angle for the make-up application. In my head, I was waiting for the outburst and worship of how great Ellie was, and that no one could ever be better than her, etc.
