Chapter -11

Persophone

I am awake and.......naked.

I have been awake for almost an hour, but I stayed still and regulated my breathing because somehow I can sense an army of wolves outside the door and I don't wanna give them any reason to barge in and drag me out naked. I also checked between my legs to see if I was violated in my unconscious state only than I breathed a sigh of relief......carefully.

Now, regulating my breathing to maintain a steady heart beat is proving to the most difficult task of my life because I am absolutely frightened on the inside. I have been brainstorming on all possible things that might have happened which led to this point in my life. Not in my wildest dream have I ever dare to imagine meeting Bjorn under such circumstances and him acting like a real mate to me. I had to pinch myself a couple of times just to make sure this wasn't a dream.

This got to mean something. There's no way Bjorn will behave like this unless he wants something only I can provide. But I don't have anything left to give, everything I have ever known came from his father and the pack elders which he already knows. I have been a good diplomatic and war strategist in the past, this was one of the main reason Bjorn kept me around for so long otherwise he would have gotten rid of me a lot sooner but other than that I don't have any more importance to him and this is what baffles me the most.

I slowly removed the quilt from my body and carefully stood on my toes to avoid making any sound and alerting the wolves outside. I am pretty sure they will come barging in with their claws and fangs if they knew I was awake.

My senses are much stronger, even stronger than before. I feel strangely energetic, something I haven't felt in years. I have lived my life like a human for so long that these new sensations feel extremely unfamiliar to me even my hands look different to me, which is absurd.

I sense a strange bitter taste in my mouth which can only mean someone has given me something while I was unconscious. My throat is absolutely parched, I can probably drink a gallon of water right now. I look around the room for something to drink and see a couple of water bottles, a beautiful basket of fruits, chocolates, exotic sweets and some other things that I haven't seen in my entire life on a table in the other room connecting this one.

I think for few seconds before deciding against drinking from the bottles, there can be anything in these bottles. I tiptoed across the room towards the huge bathroom. I rather drink running tap water than from any of these bottles.

I stood there for few seconds to admire the bathroom again, goddess it's unbelievable, this bathroom alone was worth so much that it can probably feed an entire pack in the north for a month that's how much gold was in it. I carefully closed the door behind and went towards the large gold basin below an equally large mirror. I should probably steal some of this gold before escaping from here.

But what I saw next knocked the air out of me. My whole body froze at the sight before me. I couldn't believe my eyes. Right above the sink was a huge mirror with intricately carved gold frame but what shocked me the most was my very own appearance. I stood before it, absolutely frozen. My hair, my face, my whole body has suddenly changed overnight. 

I look like my former younger self but only better and more......enhanced. All the lines, wrinkles are magically gone from my face, white hairs are replaced with my natural walnut brown hair and they look shiny and healthy unlike the former lifeless version. Even when I was young, I looked nothing like the woman in the frame. 

I feel like the goddess is playing tricks on me. I do remember male and female undergoes certain changes when their wolf reaches maturity but that differs from wolf to wolf and also it never happened to me, it wasn't because I never had a wolf, but I believed that she wasn't strong enough or maybe because my mother was human so my body didn't go through with these changes that every wolf experiences in their life. But this is unbelievable, I look so different that I can't even recognize myself anymore. My lips look plump, my breasts and hips look bigger, the fat around my stomach is not there anymore. I stood there unable to comprehend these changes. I have never seen or heard anything like this happening to a wolf in my entire life.
