Chapter 7: The "Date" Part 1

Skyler's P.O.V.

"Well..."I began to say.

"Ok what happened was that he invited me to lunch after he gave me my songbook. I told him I was fine and didn't want to go because I was being polite. I didn't he rude and be like no I don't like you. He kept say that it was the least he could because he was so busy. He wanted me to go to lunch with him because he wants to get to know me better. I finally told him that I wasn't s big fan, he didn't seem hurt because of what I said, it was how I said it. I apologized even though it was the truth. We kept talking for a little more. I finally agreed to go to lunch with him. Also we exchanged numbers," I say feeling like a gave a while speech.

When I was finished, Sophie was just looking at me with a blank expression. Did I say something I wasn't suppose to? Then Sophie looked at me with a huge grin. The she let out a screech that was so loud, it hurt my ears.

"What the hell Sophie?! I'm driving," I say.

"Sorry it is just such exciting news!" she said fangirling extra hard.

We jammed out to some music on the way home. It wasn't really that great of a car trip, I mean I had fun, but I was thinking about how lunch is going to go. I mean I hope he doesn't take me to some fancy restaurant. I am not a classy girl at all. When we have holiday dinners with our family, I don't wear dresses, I wear nice pants and a shirt. I just don't like dresses because if there was a strong wind it could blow your dress up and that would be humiliating. Well that isn't the only reason there is more, I just don't fell like saying them.

When we arrived at my house, we went inside to a quiet house, which mean dad was probably already asleep. Sophie and I went up to my room. I told her how I was feeling about the lunch thing. And how I don't want to go to a fancy place.

"Just ask where you are going," she says.

"No, that would be weird," I say.

"Then I'll do it," I was off in my own world as finally understood what she meant. It was too late she was already calling him off my phone. I started chasing her around the room but she was also running. She was talking to someone too. Oh no! Sophie stopped running, and I didn't have enough time to stop so I ended up crashing into her. Sophie and I both fell on the ground together, we started to laugh.

"Ok. What were you talking about?" I asked her.

"Well, I know where you are going to eat," she said with a huge grin on her face.

"Can you tell me where we are going then?" I asked her.

"Nope, it's a surprise. He told me to keep it from you. And he wants me to help you pick out an outfit, because then you know not to dress too fancy or be too underdressed," she states.

"Ugh!" I groan. Why is my life so complicated? Wait, is this a date? It sounds like one. I mean it is only going to be the two of us eating lunch.

"Soph is this a date?" I asked her a little bit worried.

"It seems like it, maybe you should ask him," Sophie states.

"I am not going to ask him that," I say. I go on my phone and start playing "Flappy Bird." My high score on this game is 210. That shows that I have no life.

A little bit later, Sophie said that she was going to help me get ready. I groaned not wanting to move. I wanted to stay in comfy clothes and watch tv. I don't have "Netflix," we usually use Sophie's when ever she is over. It doesn't really bother me because Sophie lets me use her sometimes, I don't use it a lot though.

First, Sophie started with my hair. She decided to straighten it because it looks long and pretty that way. Second, Sophie did my makeup, all she did was put on some lipstick and put eyeshadow on me. She really didn't put a lot on. She says no makeup can compare to my natural beauty, which is probably not true but I thank her anyways. Last, we picked out my outfit and by we I mean Sophie. Sophie picked out a pair of skinny jeans, a black tank top, and then a flannel shirt to put over the black tank top. It wasn't that bad of an outfit but I still prefer yoga pants over jeans.
