Chapter 9: Sweats and A Sports Bra, Mistake!

I woke up in a good mood today. I was a little upset because the whole mom thing. I was so happy though because what happened between Shawn and me. I just am a little confused because I don't know what we are. Let's just say I have mixed emotions because that is easy enough.

I walked down stairs and got a bowl to make cereal. I decided today was going to be a "Fruit Loop" kind of day. I eat cereal so much I need like a different kind every week. I get tired of it sometimes. "Fruit Loops" are one of my favorite kinds of cereal.

Once I was done making my bowl of cereal, I sat down at the island ate my cereal while I was on my phone. I was just scolding through Instagram and all my other social media I have.

It was really quite in the house because my dad worked today. The house also looked a little dirty. The living room looked ok because that is the first thing you see when you walk into my house, so we always keep it clean. The kitchen wasn't in great shape, and even though the living room looks clean it still needs a little work. I second that I would clean once I was done eating.

When I finished, I put my bowl in the sink and started to clean. I put music on from my phone and hooked it up to my speaker. I had music blasting throughout the whole house.

I started out in my room. Then I went to my dads room. Next was the hallway. It didn't take me long to clean any of those, I think it was eight minutes tops to clean each of them. I started to clean the bathroom next, that took me a little longer to clean. I cleaned the floor and toilet. I scrubbed the bath and wiped down the sink. My next location was the kitchen which wasn't that bad either. All I had to do was wash dishes and wipe off the island and counters. Also sweep a little.

Last but not least was the living room. I put the remotes on the side table next to the couch couch. I also put the coasters away. Next was dusting, I dusted the TV off and the pictures on the tv stand. I then vacuumed the living room. When I was done, I sat on the couch. I looked at the time, it was noon. I have been cleaning for almost two hours.

The next song that was blasting through the house was "California" by Jack and Jack, this is one of my favorite songs. I started singing Jack J's part and dance around the living room. That was when my music ended, but I still felt like singing. I stood on the table making sure my messy bun was not falling. I was using the table as a stage.

I used the candle on the table,"Thank you so much for this award. I want to thank my dad and my friends. Also a big help to my mom, who is gone now. I want to thank her for introducing me to music. She use to sing while cooking and I use to sing with her. She also sand to put me to sleep. So thank you mom. Here is a little song I want to sing you."

I put the candle down and started to sing, "Like a small boat on the ocean, sending big waves into motion. Like how a single word can make a heart open. I might only have one match but I can make an explosion. And all those things I didn't say wrecking balls inside my brain. I will scream them loud tonight. Can you hear my voice this time? This is my fight song take back my life song prove I'm alright song. My powers turned on starting right now, I'll be strong. I'll play my fight song and I don't really care if nobody else believes, cause I still got a lot o fight left in me...." I sang, I stopped when I heard someone clapping. I looked at the door and saw Shawn standing there.

"What are you doing here? I say as I felt my face get hot.

"I wanted to take my lovely girl out for a fun day," he says. When he says my lovely girl, it makes my heart flutter.

"Oh," was all I said.

"You have a great voice."

"Uhh..." I didn't know how to reply. I know I should have said thank you, but I didn't know what else to say. I couldn't speak.

"Skyler?..." Shawn asked.

"Yeah."

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

"Do you want to go get ready for our day of fun?"

"Yeah, I just need to take a quick shower."

"Ok, I'll just be in the house."

I started walking up the stairs and I thought to myself I was being stupid. Why didn't I talk? I have gotten that complement before. This makes no sense. I don't know what went wrong.

I went to my room and got my clothes out. I laid the clothes down on my bed. Well sweat pants, sports bra and my underwear. As weird as that sounds. I went to the bathroom and started the water. I started to get undressed and then got into the shower.

I hurried in the shower because I didn't want Shawn waiting too long. When I was finished, I got out, wrapped a towel around me, and then walked into my room. I put on my sports bra and sweatpants on when I got in my room. I looked in the closet for my clothes for our fun day.

I started to lay clothes on my bed. I took out leggings and a jean jacket, now I just need to find a shirt to wear. I went back into my closet and looked around. I came out with a black tank top that had a bass clef and treble clef that made a heart. This is one of my favorite shirts to wear because I love music.

I set the shirt on my bed and was about to start getting dressed. Then I heard Shawn say," Hey Skyler are you almost ready..." he stopped and looked at me. Then quickly said,"Oh I'm so sorry Skyler. I didn't know."

I had no idea what to say, because I felt my face burning up. I was probably more red than a baboons butt or a firetruck which ever you prefer. I stood there like an idiot. Shawn was still looking at me. He was probably in shock or something.

"Well I will just wait down stairs," he said still looking at me then turned away. I just nodded my head I couldn't speak.

I got dressed and then straightened my hair. It was already dry by the time I was done getting dressed. I prefer my hair down when I straighten it and that is the only time I wear it down. I finally walked downstairs and there was Shawn on his phone. He looked so uncomfortable right now. I am just going to be pretend that never happened.

Shawn looked at me and smiled a little bit, well one side of his lip went up. I guess that counts as a smile. I smiled back too.

"Are you ready to go?" he asked.

"Yeah, but where are we going?" I asked because I am a rally curious person.

"It's surprise," he says.

"You always do this." He just gave me a look like no I don't. I laughed a little but because it looked weird.

Then we walked outside to his car. We both got in and the he drove off to the mysterious place. Well for me it was mysterious and secret but he knew where we were going. Hopefully it is somewhere fun because he said fun day. It better be fun, it probably will be.

When we finally made it to the place, I looked out the window and saw a great place. The place was....

A/N: I am sorry for the late update and the really short chapter. I am going to try writing another one this weekend, but I have homework I don't know. It will be a longer chapter though. I have been really busy with school and volleyball. I have a lot of homework from my freshmen classes and I am only in eighth, so yeah I have a lot. I have a project due Monday. I don't know if I will be able to update.
