'Mine?' I questioned as I stared into my nest, inside was an injured lamia, they smelled of the ocean and hints of blood. And their body was damaged with cracks, seeing the poor one in such a state left me furious. As I observed the other's state, the snap of a stick behind me launched me into protective mode. "Mine. My Child." I hissed as my glitches acted up with my emotions. Protectively, I quickly coiled around the injured lamia, glaring at the source of the sound.
Watching with a bewildered expression was another lamia like me and the injured one in my nest. I knew this lamia, it was star (aka outer sans). Tongue flickering in and out in confusion, they observed me and the injured one for a moment before speaking. "Gen? Since when did you have offspring?" Star asked as I narrowed my eye light at them, tongue flickering in displeasure. "Since now." I stated as I looked around for any more unexpected visitors. "I'm alone if that's what you're worrying about." Star said as he slithered closer, leaning to the side to peek at the injured lamia, concern crossing his face when he caught sight of the one inside.
"Woah, he's really injured huh? Who did this to them?" Star said in shock as he winced when the sound of pained breathing reached him. "No clue." I said as I slowly uncoiled from my stance, moving to lay beside the injured one. "Shouldn't we ask Light (Dream) to heal them?" Star asked as I sighed. "It's not that I don't want to ask but light has been gone for days due to trying to find his brother who disappeared to stars knows where." I explained while my tail flicked in frustration.
"Well that's not good. Oh! How about River? (Blue aka Swap) He knows a little about healing magic right?" Star suggested as I thought for a moment. "That would work. However, I can't go anywhere, I'm watching over the injured one here." I say as a frown crosses over my face. "Then how about I get them for you?" Star suggested as my expression lightens up. "Can you? That would be a great help star." I said to which star nodded as they begin to turn around only to let out a startled hiss when they notice someone behind them.
(No One's POV)
"Oh! Hello Wither (Reaper), didn't see you there, my bad." Star says before quickly slithering past and into the forest. "..." Watching as Star disappears into the forest, Wither quickly turns his attention back to his mate who seemed to have someone in their nest. "Soo, who's that?" Wither questions as he flicks his tail at the one Gen is laying beside.
"Oh...right, forgot you weren't here when he appeared." Gen commented as wither narrowed his eye sockets at them. "Did something dangerous happen?" Wither asked as he pointed at the injured lamia. "Well, I guess? I don't know what happened but he was like this when I found him." Gen said as Wither frowns. "You didn't sense anything else nearby at where you found them did you?" Wither asks as gen shakes his skull.
"Nope, sensed nothing. The only thing I know is that he smells strangely like the ocean and he keeps coughing up blood in his sleep from time to time." Gen says and as if to prove that point, an unconscious groan of pain was heard before the scent of blood being coughed up was smelt and then silence again as the sound of painful breathing was heard, bones making pitiful creaking sounds as a few bone chips fall loose.
Staring blankly at what just happened, Wither doesn't say anything before he slithers up to lay protectively coiled on the other side of the injured lamia. "I overheard some of your conversation with Star earlier. He's gonna get River to heal this one right?" Wither says as he props his head against his arm. "That's the plan." Gen says as he winces at the sight of more chips falling off the injured lamia's bones.
"Well, I hope he gets back quickly. Things aren't looking too good for this one here." Wither says as he flicks his tongue at the unconscious injured lamia. "Yeah.." Gen agreed gloomily before moving closer to comfort the injured one who's body seemed to relax when he gently touched their skull to check on them only to be surprised when a small sleepy but hearable murmur leaves them. "Calamari Everywhere." Was what the other muttered before falling back asleep.
"Did he just say calamari?" Wither asks in amusement as gen glares at wither. "Shush, you're gonna wake them up." Gen scolds as wither snickers silently.
(Meanwhile-)
"I'M GONNA KILL HIM!" Nightmare's angry shout could be heard from all over the house as Ink hides behind a very tired dream. "Look, Nightmare. I wanna kill him as much as you do but now is not the time!" Dream, pacified? nightmare as ink does a double take on what his friend just said. "What do you mean dream-" Ink questions before shutting his mouth when the murderous glares of the twins start boring into him.
"..." Not making a peep, ink quickly tries to blend into the background as dream convinces nightmare to help find slash while promising to help 'Deal' with ink later. And as the twins come to an agreement, hissing could be heard in the backyard. Turning to look, one could see as night furiously stares at his 'dear' brother light who had appeared from the basement and found him in the backyard in his new nest.
And as the lamia twins had a- reunion of sorts. Slash was dreaming of napping in the warm sun, not aware of the ruckus his disappearance was causing. ________________________________________________
