Picture of Kelsey above!^ (Yes I know she has blue eyes in this picture but imagine her with brown. Kay? okay.)
Chapter three.
It was 9:00 in the morning on a Saturday and I had no clue as to why I was up this early.
Wait yes I did.
Restlessness and boredom does not make for a good combination. I laid my head against my pillow and pulled the sheets back up over my head.
I was officially a human burrito.
"Kelsey?"
I heard a slight rasp of a knock against my door.
Shifting the blankets from over my head to see Uncle Malcolm standing .
with his hand gently against the door, I look over at my clock that read 9:10 in the morning. What the hell was he doing up? He usually slept well past noon.
"Yes?" I asked. I got up out of bed and threw my blankets together neatly.
"Are you hungry?"
This was really strange. Uncle Malcolm has this theory that everyone fends for themselves when it comes to eating.
He stood quietly for a few moments and the preceded to say, "I guess not. But if you are there's pancakes out of the kitchen counter for breakfast."
He was gone less than a moment later.
I stood for a couple seconds pondering what just happened before I moved across my room to the full length mirror I had.
I was the definition of an ugly monster.
My curly brown hair was matted and tangled, tossed everywhere from a restless night of tossing and turning.
My eyes were dull and dark.
My eyebrows were up and messy.
This was the disaster of me when I woke up and to be honest, I hated how I looked.
I wasn't anything spectacular. But I wasn't an atrocity either. I may not have naturally perfectly shaped eyebrows, flawless skin or the skinniest body but I wasn't horrible.
I was a size 6 in jeans and a size small to medium in shirt sizes but I always wanted to be smaller.
I looked in the mirror for another 10 minutes, just staring at my reflection.
I loved myself but now a days that was getting harder to do.
I grabbed my brush and ran it through my wild mane.
I hated having curly hair. I couldn't leave it unbrushed then I look like I'm crazy, if I brush it. It gets really frizzy.
I guess I was going to straighten my hair today. I grabbed my clothes out of my closet and walked into the bathroom.
It was 10:45 my by the time I had finished my hair.
I had decided on a simple baby blue v-neck tee shirt with a pair of track shorts.
My makeup was light and delicate.
I looked drastically different from less than an hour ago when I looked in the mirror.
My stomach growled from hunger reminding me of my non touched pancakes out on the kitchen counter.
My uncle may have been a drunk but when he cooks. Oh my God, the food is heavenly.
The pancakes were soft and warn thanks to the invention of the microwave, covered in butter and drenched in maple syrup.
They were just the way I liked them.
