Cookies

The guests began arriving just as Yoko was pulling the chicken out of the oven. First to arrive were the Kurosakis. Yuto was very happy to see his friends again, and the three of them began chatting.

"So how's life here?" Shun asked. Yuto smiled, "It's been really great! Better than I ever imagined!"

"I'm glad you're happy," Ruri said. "I know how much you've always wanted a family of your own."

Yuto nodded, "Yeah, and Yoko and Yusho were very happy to adopt me. And now I have three brothers!"

"Has Yuri given you any trouble?" Shun asked, glancing over at the cabbage-head who was in the kitchen sneaking cookies from the cookie jar. Yuto shook his head, "Not as much as expected. He's been much more docile now that he's not under the control of Akaba Leo."

"Yuri, don't eat too many cookies," Yoko said suddenly. "You can have a few, but save the rest for after dinner."

"Yes, Mother," Yuri said, putting two of the six cookies he was holding back into the jar. Yuto shook his head. "I swear, all Fusion duelists are sugar fiends."

"Hey, you can't blame us! We were never allowed to have sweets back in Academia!" Yuri said, taking a big bite out of a cookie. Yuto nodded, "I suppose you're right. I can't really blame you. But you should probably put back one more cookie. You'll be too full to eat dinner if you eat all four of those."

Yuri looked Yuto directly in the eye as he took another, bigger bite from his cookie. Yuto just sighed and turned away, "Fine, ruin your appetite. Menace."

Yuri snickered and continued munching his cookies. They were absolutely delicious! If he ended up ruining his appetite, well, he could live with that.
