Yuya woke up the next morning still laying in front of the TV in the living room. Someone had put a blanket over him in the middle of the night, and the TV had been turned off. Yuya sat up and stretched, yawning as quietly as he possibly could.
Yoko was in the kitchen preparing Yuya's favorite breakfast, fluffy pancakes. Yuya lit up when he saw, carefully getting up and walking to his mother. "Can I help?"
"Sure, a little help in the kitchen is always nice!" Yoko said, smiling at her son. Yuya smiled back as he began mixing pancake ingredients. Yoko began cooking the mix that she'd already prepared.
"Mm, something smells good," Dennis said from the couch where he'd been asleep. Yuya beamed at him, "Pancakes! My favorite breakfast!"
"Oh, pancakes sounds delicious right now!" Dennis said hungrily. "I can't wait!"
