*READER'S POV*

The small get-together seemed to end just as soon as it had started.

"I'm so sorry that I have to ask you all to leave, but these two are just getting a little out of hand..." Makoto apologized as he tried to calm down the two screaming siblings.

"Not beautiful..." Rei covered his ears and closed his eyes in an attempt to block out the sound, which only resulted in Nagisa stealing his glasses and running out of the house.

"Well, thank you so much for inviting us, Makoto, maybe we can come over another time!"

Makoto sighed with a smile, "Hopefully..."

Kate left the house in a rush, nearly throwing on her shoes and chasing after Nagisa at Rei's side, laughing all the while.

"Um... do you mind if I walk you home?" Haru asked, a look in his eyes that seemed to say, 'I need to talk to you...'

"Sure," I gave a small grin and put on my shoes, sliding them on quickly and walking with Haru out the door.

*HARU'S POV*

I needed to ask (Y/N) about what happened. At this point I am so full of a mixture of curiosity, anger, and sadness that I can't continue to go on merely guessing the events that occurred in the hallways of the school.

We had walked about a quarter of the way to her house, when I couldn't hold back any longer, "(Y/N), what exactly happened yesterday, that... scared you so badly..?"

She turned to me with a slightly confused expression, 'I told you what happened,' her eyes seemed to say.

"I just got lost, remember?" She gave a small giggle, cracked slightly by nervousness.

*READER'S POV*

As Haru and I walked along the warm pavement by the ocean, he brought up the question rather abruptly.

'He knows that I lied.'

"I just got lost, remember?" I lied again, using up the last bit of hope that he wouldn't notice. I gave a giggle, but heat soon spread to my cheeks, causing nervousness to rise and my voice to crack.

'Shoot!'

I continue to smile at Haru, then set my gaze out to the ocean. It's truly amazing, really. That very ocean reminds me of Haru every time I seem to look at it. I don't know what it is about him...

'His eyes...' A thought moves quickly through my mind. 'You love his eyes.'

I try to rid the thoughts that continue to pop into my mind as I walk along, which is quite difficult when you're walking directly next to someone and trying not to look like you're being possessed by Satan.

And once again, just like that, Haru pops another thought, "It was Rin, wasn't it?"

I turn and just look at him. His content gaze is set forward, as if the words meant nothing at all. I didn't know how to respond. 'He knows.'

I finally decided that there was no use in lying any longer, as I'm sure it would only dig me into a deeper hole. I let out a small sigh and look down, "Yes, it was Rin."

*HARU'S POV*

I clench my fists at her words as they replay over and over in my mind. 'It was Rin, It was Rin, It was Rin... Rin!'

Anger boils up inside me again, but fades quickly as I begin to think. I don't know what to say...

What in Rin's mind would cause him to do... anything to (Y/N).

"What did he do?" I ask in the same tone, rather plainly, not moving my gaze, knowing it would only result in more disappointment.

We arrive at (Y/N)'s house, and I finally work up the courage to look into (Y/N)'s (E/C) eyes. "(Y/N). Please... tell me what happened."

I felt even more emotion when she... blushed at the thoughts. So he did something... physical. I clenched my fists tighter, not loosening my grip for even a second, trying to hide the fire that was burning inside me.

*READER'S POV*

I think back to yesterday's events and feel horrible when I blush, seeing that Haru looks... hurt.

I give in.

"He... he...." I stutter slightly trying to get my thoughts together. I honestly don't know how to put it into words. It's more than just saying, "He kissed me."

Or maybe that was just enough.

"Well, I went to return his goggles,
a-and when I got there-"

"He kissed you" I hear Haru say under his breath, his crystal eyes locked in on me.

I shut my eyes tightly, tears forming in my eyes as the many emotions catch up to me.

My fear.

The team's sympathy.

Rin's lust.

Haru's anger.

The feeling came rushing at me quickly, and I became paralyzed.

*HARU'S POV*

My eyes widen when I finally know the truth, and I see (Y/N) beginning to cry, sending me into more shock and concern.

However, she doesn't move. She just stands there, a single tear running down her cheek, and she looks torn.

I just stand there watching her, unable to move myself, until I feel an impulse that leads me to do something that didn't have the strength to do on my own.

I wrapped my arms around her, and pulled her into a warm embrace.

I held her close to me, and as if I were swimming in my fastest race, my heartbeat quickened, and yet I felt calmer than ever.
