We all held our breath. I could hear my heart pounding in my chest.

The nurse's face lit up with a smile.
"He's going to be okay." We all let our sighs of relief.

"Thank God." Liam said breathlessly.

"When can we go see him?" I asked.

"Well he's asleep right now but I suppose we can let you in for a bit." We all eagerly left the room and followed the nurse at a close speed to his room. The nurse slowly opened the door.

"Niall!" We yelled, dashing over to his bed. I threw my arms around his neck, despite the throbbing pain.

"You scared me to death." I murmured.

"Now we can make our Incredibles." Niall murmured into my ear.

"I thought you said he was asleep." Louis interrupted the moment.

"Niall, man, I'm so glad you're okay." Liam pulled Niall into a hug.

"I'm so glad you guys are alright! Where are Zayn and Paul?"

"They're both going to be okay. They're resting in their rooms right now. I think you'll be able to see them later."

**

"Niall, I don't even know what to do with myself now." The room was now filled with only the slow breaths of Niall and I. The rest of the boys had gone to get take out from Chipotle for dinner.

"Well, you don't have to worry about being tracked down anymore."

"Yeah, I'm relieved about that, it's just, now that I know the whole story I don't know how to process all this."

"Well you have your whole life ahead of you, it can't hurt to take some time." I slowly sat down at the chair by his beside when I heard a crumpling noise from within my back pocket. I slowly pulled Devan's note out of my pocket. That's when I got an idea.

**

Rain was tricking down the hospital window, making a perfect rhythm. I slowly pulled out Devan's letter out of my jeans pocket for the second time today,  re-reading it several times. I knew that this was the last thing I had of him. His handwriting was written all over my past, I could never forget him.

I leaned over to the table beside me and grabbed a pad of paper and a pen.

Dear Devan,

I miss you so much. It still pains me to know I won't hear your voice or the sound of your footsteps crashing down those old wooden steps. But those are the things I will never forget.

Some may say it wasn't worth going to a gang for. But I know you did it because you took it upon yourself to take care of me for all these years, if that doesn't make a good brother I don't know what does. You were so strong and taught me how to be.

If given the choice, I would not get another brother or change the fact that I had you for one. You were always kind to me and wanted what was best for me. I love you so much and nothing could ever change that.

Yes, you made a bad choice. But you have done so many good things that have been a blessing in my life. One day I hope to get a job, get married and have kids. But no matter what happens in my life, no matter how much I change and how old I grow, I won't ever stop loving you. You will always be my brother.

-Always your sister,
Samira
